Pre purchase inspection

Hey you just had work done in New York maybe he could use the first guy you called

 

OP is probably looking at a nationwide company with agents in every states, who run around doing truck inspections and have vehicles equipped with oil testing machines

 

And stupid me was flying all over checking out the trucks when I could have just hired someone

 

Find a truck mechanic close by using Google call them up and ask if they will go do a ppi or dot inspection on the truck. I'm in the process of doing that now. The guy told me 300-400 to check it out.

 

Awfully big gamble to put into the hands of a stranger, if it were me I’d be on a plane.

I would want to be there with the mechanic having him show me as he goes along. I would get a better feel for the truck and he would probably do a far more thorough job

 

How about the local manufacturer dealer, see if the service manager can do something or recommend someone in the area.

If he works it out, send a pizza delivery to the shop.
