That’s definitely to be expected hauling produce. When I was going out to CA/AZ around 2014 if I didn’t have a 2hr wait at a pickup I was shocked. It really is luck of the draw though at any of the better cold storage places. Tanimura & Antle in Salinas come to mind sometimes I’d be in and out sometimes it would be 4+hrs. The berry guys like Driscoll are usually very quick but they have hard set appts. I forget the name the place in Oxnard doing lemons but they’re usually quick then I’ve had some picks in Salinas where I’ve sat for 18-24hrs for a partial lol. Really depends on time of year, what you’re picking and how much, how busy they are and what loader/lumper you get. Generally expect 2hr wait everywhere though it’s less stressful expecting to wait than setting the bar high and being disappointed.

I usually didn’t mind the wait tbh but I was also on paper logs and would make the trip from south east to so cal in 2 days. by the time I got
empty and wash out I was ready to sit. Usually I’d be tired of sleeping from all the wait time at my 4-6picks most weeks lol
