Hello Truckers from all around the world.
(English is my second language)
I am web developer who works in a small company too far from US. To be honest, I am very tired of this job. Everytime I sit in front of my monitor and coding some boring stuff. So, My life is very boring. I am really interested in trucks and this lifestyle which seems really cool from distance. I know that there are some obstacles or difficulties which is essential in truckers life and I think I am ready to fight and become one of truck drivers. I can come in US and get CDL after some times. So my question is does it really worth to become one? Or Is it bad idea . I am not good even in driving.
I dont know what to do. Just sit and continue my boring coding life or become trucker and fullfill my needs or expectations...
Thanks...

Trucking is a really boring mind numbing job you also have to be good at driving.
Northeast Hillbilly, Badmon, Lumper Humper and 2 others Thank this. -
I dont think its mind numbing job. At least you are travelling long distances and seeing beautful places.
I have no experience driving such a big truck , but everyone have starting point right?
Maybe I become one..Badmon, Lumper Humper and OldeSkool Thank this. -
Their is a game called american truck simulator It's simulation is poor but the boring aspect of the game are realistic thats what it would be like. I only do it for the money and I do the same route every day but their are drivers who find this job fun I guess

When and if you become a driver, make sure you are regular employee not a contractor or some other name they might come up with to not offer you benefits of a regular status employee. If a company offers a lease program politely turn them down. If leasing is a condition of employment, turn around and hit the door and don't look back.
Several companies will train you for "free" providing you work for them for a specified time. This is probably the easiest way into the industry.
Good luck, I hope you can afford to move and live here while you are waiting to start your new career.Dino soar, RookieCascadia, Professor No-Name and 1 other person Thank this. -
Thank you friends!!!
I cant wait until i become one... -
