You get a load as soon as you are in your truck and tell the DM that you are ready for one. Wil-Trans will take care of everything you need. All permits are ready to go. The truck comes with a new mattress. We bought a memory foam mattress from the prime yard. Never sat very long between loads. We didnt take any load we didnt want but then again our fleet mngr. didnt offer us loads to places he knew we didnt want to go. The fleet mngr we had at Wil-Trans was one of the best ones Ive ever had in 12yrs of driving.

countrycruisers: I tell you. I sure do get shot down alot, when it come to wil trans. If you will some question for you sir. Do they look at your credit rating when it comes to leasing a truck?% rating. What is or if the walk way? How long is the lease. Is there any balloon payments. Any demo leasing. One more. Did they pay for any dead head miles. cpm. Thanks man good luck out there.
-
I can answer those questions..no credit check..they "say" its a walk away lease in orientation, but its not..there is a $600 fee for early termination of the lease..also, they will figure out anyway possible to eat up your final paycheck, kept $1300.00, then asked for the additional $600..HA!, they turned it over to collection, that agency offered to settle for a lesser amount. I told them I had already paid $1300 towards the debt...Never heard from them again...No balloon payment, you dont own the truck after paying 10's of thousands of dollars for it...They will sell it to you for fair market value (doesnt take into consideration 1 penny you paid during the lease)..They do have used trucks that carry the same payment as a new one, just for a shorter period of time, I guess you could consider that "demo". Working on percentage, NO PAY for deadhead...I once deadheaded 500 miles to pickup a load they couldnt get covered, pulled it 600 miles for pay...My bad, I knew better, but it was my first week out with Wil-Trans, didnt want to tell them NO..Stupid, Stupid, Stupid.

Thanks for the answers to by questions? If I may ask you,Jaguar115. Did you go threw all the training. Tell you why I ask.I already have my clds with class A hasmat and a 154 hour training course from tdi school(which They say thats good for them) Do you know what it is I have to do to show them I able to move the truck. If I have to guess it will be the same as when i took the test. Which for me is not that good( If I'm to jump in and whip right in or fail). Then what go home. Tell you why. Its been 12 weeks from the last time I was in the truck. At the school I was getting It done. But I'm no pro. I've have one other choice to choose from. And thats covenant. But I understand that wil trans has power packs so no idle time problems with that. Will just asking. Thanks.
walken the floors until I get the cast off my wrist. I going some where.

Not having recent experience or any experience your not going out alone...You will have a short driving test, but they know you are a novice. They just want to be sure you know the basics and arent going to run anything over. No, I didnt go through Wil-Trans training..I attended CDL Training and Testing out of Little Rock Ar. I then went to SRT (Southern Refrigerated Transportation) out of Texarkana (actually they were in Ashedowne Ar, but have moved up the road)...I went out with a trainer for 4 weeks...The training consisted of running "4 Corners", basically we had to drive to the 4 corners of the United States before testing for "upgrade", that took about 4 weeks. Have you tried SRT? They are sister company with Covenant, and if they are willing to take ya, there is a good chance they will too.

Ha! 4 corners of the us in 4 weeks! Thats training for ya. Thanks for your answer. If you have the time. Can you tell me what s this up grade test. Ok i do know about the seats C,B2,B1,A. Somethang about so many miles to move up a seat. But Im not sure about this grade test. You know the word "test" Allways gets me going. I don't like going in blind, Not knowing what is it ,that I have to do. I didn't do alot of backing with a sleeper on back.Day cabs. But I know its about the same. Just a longer wheel base. which not use to. Driving forward up shifting Don't a problem. When it come to down shifting,Sigle gear/2 gear shifting got it. Put It has been a while. I don't want it to end up like. You messed up go home. You know I did put in app. with srt,But have not heard from them. I didn't try to call, After reading some of these threads about covenant, I thought they would me just as bad.I don't always believe everythang I hear, But some it must be true.Something wrong over there. But If you thank its worth me trying. I'll check out the web srt. But I still have this cast on my wrist that's got to come off. Doc on the 4th of nov. Thanks let me what you thank.

Good Morning Wil-Trans drivers
I was wondering what type of trucks and transmissions you folks are driving, I am being considered for refreasher training. I have a CDL-A , but have been driving motorcoach OTR for the last 2 years. How are their trainers and training program. I live in an area where most Companies won't hire out of, so I am excited that they are consider my application. I know it is an extended trianing program and thats OK, imho more training is better then less. I am thinking that having an longer training time would make a person more hireable in the long run. I also seen the post that they are affiliated with Prime, which is no problem to me. As I said where I live most Cos won't even consider. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Well, when your running "team" 4 corners in 4 weeks isnt that difficult...the upgrade test is just a written test, very basic, and then another road test with Tony (if he is still there)...He and his wife perform orientation..piece of cake..give them a call...they are sister companies of Covenant...but 2 different "animals"
big wheels Thanks this. -
From what i've seen Prime gets a 10 - 15 % off the top, Then Wil-Trans gets there percentage and you the lease o/o get how much ! To many fingers in the pot. Maybe as a companydriver you could do ok.
trucker43 and big wheels Thank this. -
Thanks for your time to answer a few questions,jaguar115. If I may ask, Do you drive for SRT? Just to let you know went to doc. today about the cast on my wrist. X-rays showed there is still a line to be seen where the crack was. So!! Two more weeks. In a cast. Man when it rains it pours! But that means I have more time to look around to find the best truck driving job for me!! yea!!I guess. So I'm looking, any ideas. I've completed a 154 hour driver training course, Have class A w/t hasmat. driving dmv report clean, Last mark was in 2000.All most 10 years ago. Misd. 1999, fighting 10 years ago.I live in Florida panhandle near Moblie, Al.. Let me know what comes up!! I know it all-ways the same question,(who to drive for)!! Thank all for your time.
