I would definitely call back and verbally clarify that you are in Florida, empty, and ready for an outbound load when you wake up. If it’s after hours, you may have to wait on morning dispatch to get there tomorrow. I’d clarify it just in case your Qualcomm location isn’t showing that way you don’t sit there unnecessarily.

Yeah I just decided to wait till the morning. I’m really low in hours and don’t start getting recaps till Tuesday and I could run my truck into the shop anyways and get some things taken care of on it. It just threw me off but whatever it’s cool, I got to watch some of the playoff gamesTanker_82 Thanks this.

I am seriously considering coming over to IRT. My main concern is pay. I'm bringing in $1400 gross on the dedicated I am on now. How comparable would it be over here?
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
Why would you leave a dedicated thing. To sit at a dairy and not get paid. Stupid is stupid does
-
You would hit that amount by running 2,641 miles in a week over here. I average 3,000 miles per week as an OTR driver for IRT. We have some dedicated guys that do milk runs from Hartley, TX to Hutchinson, KS. I know one of them personally. I brought him over here from a previous company we worked at together 4 years ago. He does about 75K a year on his run. I’m OTR and always have been. A recruiter in Florida could give you the details on regional or local depending on what you’re interested in. Hope it helps and good luck to you.

Calling someone stupid without all the facts is pretty stupid now isn't it but whatever. Please jump into conversations with negativity. I just asked a question about the company and don't need your opinion on my life choices. No my first rodeoTanker_82 and Crusader66 Thank this.

Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing if you pkay it right you can get your breaks in during long unloadsbentstrider83 and Tanker_82 Thank this.

Correct. A lot of our loads are drop and hook now. As an OTR driver I only haul dairy loads once in a blue moon. Most of mine are juice loads with a few odd ball products like malt, yeast, oils, etc.
Don’t let the negative comments bother you. I would guess that a lot of times they’re from disgruntled former employees or rival companies who want to derail the thread onto a long winded back and forth argument. Hopefully the moderators step in if needed. I try ignore it.bentstrider83, Nolelover61 and Rugerfan Thank this. -
Tanker_82 Do you have any info on the IRT Cedar Rapids operations? Looking at them and Caledonia hoping to run the midwest primarily. Thanks.
-
I do not. I know where the office is but that’s about it. I’ve only been to Cedar Rapids 2 or 3 times. The Florida office can transfer you up there where you can talk to someone for more details.
I haven’t been on here in awhile, so I just now saw your post.bentstrider83 and Lonesome Thank this.
