No problem. I run in a dedicated TCU long haul division for Walmart and Conagra. My average run is over 1600 miles. I am a trainer with perfect trainer score which raises my CPM to .34. I get paid for every mile my truck runs. My average month is 20,000 miles . Thats $6800 per month. If you can work long hours and have the patience to train and train well, its just one of the ways Werner can pay off.
And yes, I will pass on the puff.. thx. -
So let me get this straight......Werners pays you .34 a mile for all the miles the truck runs....you and your trainees running team?? Now thats some production with a new driver!!! You make more per mile then than any team company I have ever heard of......... and yet Werner starts their new solo drivers out at less the .25 a mile? Something is not adding up
-
First few weeks are a bit tiring, but I can still get 750-900 miles a day with a new student and still get enough sleep in at the end of the day. The last month or so 1000-1200 miles a day as a team. And you are right, you cant beat it.
Your facts are wrong at the starting rate for new drivers however, you should do more research.. unfortunately many of the negative posts on this forum pertaining to werner leave out some of the payscale information or are not accurate in any case. Lots of disgruntled ex-drivers/students out there. I understand.. because I made some of them that wayI dont put out bad drivers, my life and the safety of the motoring public depend on competent drivers who have the skill, pride, endurance, concentration, attention, judgement, and patience it takes to be a good driver. Besides if me or any of my students mess up, my pay decreases dramatically and I could loose my training certification. As long as I do a good job and put out good drivers, ill be rewarded.

For the benifit of all the perspective Werner drivers, why not give us the facts about new driver pay and a typical day under the direction of the one of the highest paid drivers in the industry.

It depends on the region and its certainly more than .24, but its not and never will be very much Jonny1. As with any training company you goto pay your dues and prove yourself a good driver/hard worker for 6 months or so before more opportunities within the company are available to you. Or if you mess up, or just dont like being with your company, you can still get in that golden year of experience before other companies doors open for you.

That is usually a sign of a low paying co and I have known a few of their drivers and know they have a low pay scale and with electronic logs it's not like you can back log to shave miles. They used to start at about .22 cpm, but that has been a while back.ky wildcat 4ever Thanks this. -
how can you mak over 70k per year when you have 0-1 experience as a trucker! that makes no sense
notarps4me Thanks this. -
For the record, my first year at Werner was running team as well. Me and my hubby were paid .42 cpm including bonuses, .38 cpm base. Our first year, together we made around 50k according to our W2s and our first year we ran our ##### off on the Elite Team Werner fleet.
Zwire, I have posted my paycheck stubs in the pass to prove/make a point. Lets see it then, I know you have the online payroll, print screen, the paycheck summary black out all the dates and names, just let us see these amounts. I personally think you are talking out your butt.
And -I- actually like Werner and would work for them again. The Challenger Thanks this.
