I'm sitting at 128K and have a couple more weeks to go until I've been driving tractor/trailer for 1 year. (drove straight trucks in the oilfield before that). This has been done with A LOT of days off compared to most people. I took 3 straight weeks off in the summer to go camping and whitewater rafting. When my girlfriend puts me through the ringer I ask the dispatcher for a little more than my regular 2 days off and he'll give me 3 or 4 days off. I even took a week and a half off for what might've been swine flu. (before the outbreak became more widely known).
If I didn't take those days off I could've easily broken 140K. Keep in mind I'm a Canadian driver that doesn't do any local runs. I load in Canada, run to the states and unload, and then drive to a reload that takes me back to Canada. Lots of miles between loading/unloadingJustSonny Thanks this. -
100k a year is just under averaging 2,000 mi a week. i would think you SHOULD get 100k a year your first year easy.
i agree with the poster saying 'wrong turns' etc., and you end up driving way more. LOLJustSonny Thanks this. -
Remember----130K miles per year doesn't count if
50K were out of route.. Bwhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!!! -
They weren't out of route, they were explorations.

He's not stuck, he used to be a furniture mover and knows sometimes you have to angle things through tight spaces

I just finished my first month out with my trainer and we did 20,000 miles in October. Multiply that times 12 and you get 240,000 miles in one year. Completely doable.
