My daughter does it. She makes ok money. She only works when she wants to.
I tried it one weekend just so I would know what she did for a living. It was hard work but fun. I net only $11 an hour, but she knows how to hustle and get bonus' etc. She nets about $20. Not bad for a do- whatever-you -want -to fill in gig. Very popular with pot heads...just sayin'

Ugh, $11/hr? That's like a high paying, unarmed security guard gig. Of course in all my working years, I was never able to get into any service or McRetailFastFood position to save my life(I was either too ugly, too fat, didn't come off as friendly person,. etc). And apart from trucking, security work was probably the only other job I've held down in my life. Eh, who knows? That was 2000-2010. The UberEats and other delivery jobs like that would probably serve my ugly mug well.

Depends on the market I’d assume. For instance, I started out in taxis and limousines. (Pre-CDL) in NYC there was more than enough airport and Wall Street work to make a few hundred per night. (90’s money)

But I’ve met cabbies in cities under 250,000 population and the market is much smaller.

I made most of my money off commuters. They made their money off tow trucks.

In a suburban area where many people have been reduced to working from home and still make enough to get takeout a few nights a week you could make a good run for a while. You know your local area and what it will support.

Wow can’t wait to use Uber eats since I learned this. Sure hope the pothead don’t get the munchies on the way to my house!

That's a surefire way to get "deactivated" from any number of food running services. I signed on for Door Dash in my rural area, but all slots are taken. That and I've noticed that ever since the pandemic, many of the smaller restaurants in both Clovis and Portales are utilizing their own in-house delivery. Seems to be a bit of a stigma over these apps in towns like these.

How long will there even be security jobs? You could put roving robots with infrared sensors and a communication device around the perimeter of a company. They don't need bathroom breaks, don't fall asleep, and most importantly, don't need to be paid.

Lately there have been these unmanned temporary towers installed in shopping center parking lots. A looped recording of social distancing "rules" , periodically booming the directive in an authoritative male voice.

    Shades of Demolition Man.
