Because I kept learning from people on this forum. If you get asked "were you in the sleeper the entire 10 hours?" under oath at a trial.........you'll have to say "no". And then they'll be able to say you are a liar and can not be believed.

I put "off duty" as the notation.

Lets not get so technical! To draw a line takes less that a minute and they haven't thrown those at us yet (DON"T give them ideas!) ROFLMAO

And actually if you log 10 hours in the sleeper from L4 to L4 that is falsifying a log book! You didn't spend 10 in the sleeper! Especially if you walk into a scale house smelling like rose water after a shower!

I watched this actually happen to a driver. He handed his log to the officer behind the counter, every day in his log showed him going off duty to the sleeper then back on duty with no off duty time.

The officer looked at him asked him if he took a shower and ate last night and the driver without thinking said yes sir. The officer turned his book around so he could see it and asked him to show him where he took the time to shower and eat?

It's hard to take the words out of a truckers mouth but this driver stood there like a deer in the lights! The officer told him t go back to the truck and redo EVERY day he had just looked a to show line 1 time and told him that form now on he need to show that L1 especially if you come in here smelling like a bottle of aftershave and clean!

I just had an inspection by CHP and was told I had the best log book he'd seen in a long time. *smug smile that only a woman can give*

I show both 1 and 2, but I do it all just before I drive. I don't feel like picking that book up every time I go and flirt with the waitress! (or Nana.) LOL

I just looked at my log book to see if it was up to date. Come to find out I haven't even filled out a sheet for today yet. :biggrin_2551:
