Greeting all... Although I am new to the forum, I've lurked around a bit and figured I'd sign up and try to tap in to the incredible amount of knowledge contained here. Been in trucking @40 years and seen a lot, both good and bad in the industry. Started out working for my Dad before I could legally drive a truck and always wanted to follow in his footsteps. Flatbeds, containers, dry vans... but finally settled in with an LTL freight carrier delivering locally, working the dock, and now running line haul. Spent lots of time within the triangle... Baltimore... Buffalo... Boston... and more time in NYC than I care to admit.
For fun, I'm trying to bring back to life an old(not really) '85 KW W900... this is where some of that knowledge will come in handy. Hoping to gain from and give to the forum.

    Welcome to forum!
Always room for another old school guy like myself.
I got my license in 1981 and hail from upstate NY and also certainly did my time in the “Triangle “

Ok... here's a few pics... I'll start out slow... I have most of it cleaned up, but I still have a ways to go... this is the kind of stuff I like tinkering with...NOT. Auto electric is not my thing, mechanical things are. Eldest son, Sparky, is the wiring Guru... but between his job, kids, wife, and life... he just can't seem to find the time.

    Coffey Thanks this.

Welcome aboard. We're all bozos on this bus. You'll find, a treasure trove of information, stuff I'd have killed( or at least maimed) for years ago. The staff does a good job of filtering out the lunkheads, like on FB. Someone here has done everything.

Although not the original, the engine in the truck is a 3406B(7FB) 350 h.p. Cat. It has a 9 spd. and 3:70s with 24 inch rubber... for now. The original engine had a BrakeSaver and was removed.

Believe it or not... the truck sat for 11 years and when I got it home and cleaned it out, not a spot of critter droppings was to be found. My guess is that any respectable rodent would not have lived in the condition I received this truck.

Good... as for Bozos, I should fit right in. I don't claim to know everything... but I do a little about a lot. Most truck drivers do... yet we're called "dumb"(sarcasm).
