I'm steering away from the an actual APU due to the maintenance, and where our EPA crap is headed. The EPU is a good alternative though I had while at Wilson. Draws off battery banks, and I remember the batteries still being good after the AC had ran for 10 hours. You might still need to idle occasionally in exceptionally hot areas during the daytime.77fib77, LoSt_AgAiN, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this.

Was an article in the Las Vegas paper a while back about the birds killed by the solar plant by Primm. Word is they are fully cooked by the time they burst into flames. Claim they don’t find that many. The suggestion was coyotes clean the place up.dwells40, homeskillet, InTooDeep and 4 others Thank this.

They are attached to the same truck driven by the same driver? And both report to the same OM?
Sounds like Otter has fuel filters that are clogging up, cause.. well... they are working. Check engine light could be from fuel pressure issues. That could be caused by dirty filters, fuel gelling in the filters, or water clogging/freezing in the filters. Cheap easy fix.... Change filters, grab a spare set to carry with in case the next place has none, and throw some winter fuel additive in the tank to flush any water.
The other problem he diagnosed is a hydraulic issue in the clutch.
May have low reservoir or water in the fluid freezing. Said freeze may have caused a seal to go bad or a line to crack. So he needs to plan some down time for a competent wrench to look at all the pieces cause that will leave him stranded with himself the only competent mechanic around.JolliRoger, 77fib77, homeskillet and 5 others Thank this. -
I miss this style, too bad the curves are more economical.

Considering where all the EPA stuff is going I doubt even the gliders stay around much longer. Those Freightliner Classics were beauties though. Back then the only thing I preferred about a Pete was the CAT.
