DAC question

How long does it take for a issue to get to the report, and how do you get copy of it. Thanks

 

It may take up to 30 days, sometimes longer. hireright dot com for a copy of the DAC.

what is a DAC report?

 

A DAC report is what the MAJOR companies use to report your complete driving record with that company. when you were hired, what you pulled, if you were regional or OTR, they can place anything on it so, if you leave a company leave on good terms as that company can put the nail to your driving career. if you want a copy of it like someone else said got to hireright.com fill out the info check all the box's. and within 2 to 3 weeks you'll get your report. you can fight whatever is on it if its not right, granted it may not come off but you can fight it.

 

Now that you have the new name they are going by this year (ROFL) here is something no one even knows about:
Someone earlier in the thread said information from more than 10 years ago was showing up. Read the rules that HireRight has (there is a link to it I think called your rights in the FAQ section) They bylaw can't give out OLD damaging information to prospective employers! Read through it and then click and fill out the form and hit send! I got everything older than 10 years removed from my report.

NOW. This DOES NOT mean that if an employer asks on an application if you EVER had a DUI, criminal record that you can tell them no! HireRight is NOT the only place that companies have to get information from. That is one of the things that will keep you from a job! It's called falsifying an application and some companies use it on the DAC.

Someone else asked what can be put on the DAC:
*any accident or incident like a bird strike in the windshield, door hitting a mirror, kingpin jumping a cross member, ANY damage to a truck/trailer
*speeding tickets, parking tickets, overweight's,failed DOT's
*Eligible for rehire: answers are yes, after review, no,
*Firing reasons: Unsatisfactory safety record, to many late deliveries/pick up's, attitude problems with dispatch (THIS should be a warning!)
and the list is endless but that were a few of what you'll see on a DAC report.
Also, when a company sends in for a report you should get a copy so I would not ask for a copy unless you are just curious. If you have no driving history it will not show up BUT criminal, credit, and even medical can and will show up.

DAC/USIS/HireRight does NOT make a company that reports to them give answers to any of the reasons or "answers" on the DAC report! All the company has to do is click radio buttons to "fill in the blanks"!
These companies also get PAID to make a report on a driver!

IMHO I feel that if every driver wrote a letter to their congress critter and DEMAND that DAC/USIS/HireRight must make each company write a complete report detailing why the driver was fired or released and make it where it will take them longer to file than what it is worth hourly wise to the company! MAKE it NON Productive to the company to file these many times false and misleading reports! Or at least a break even situation and you'll see these reports get more honest that they are now!

Another thing is DACFix is a paid sponsor of The Truckers Report. Would I recommend any of you use them? NO! They are the same thing as a "credit repair" company! Everything that DACFix does is the same thing you can do for FREE on DAC/USIS/HireRights web page! Why pay $150.00? You fill out the forms and they send them into DAC and 30 days later you get an answer! HMMM same thing that happened when I repaired MY DAC but way cheaper, like FREE!

 

is there a time line when things fall off ur dac like 10 yr 5 yr

 

I think it used to be 7, but I am not sure anymore.
