The biggest issue with Keystone isn't the oil, where it comes from, or jobs, or the environment. These are just the small view issues that are used to persuade a public that has become largely myopic when it comes to macroeconomics and geopolitics.
The fact is, Canada is going to produce that oil, regardless of who buys it. They will pipe it somewhere, and it will be sold to whoever they can get the best deal from.
There are people that will counter with the world oil market argument. That's a bunch of bs, its like using the national freight rate average to claim that all freight lanes pay the same.
Get a globe or world map out, and see if you can figure out who in the world would be the next most likely importer of Canadian oil behind the U.S.dwells40, 650cat425, jamespmack and 6 others Thank this.
