Was wondering if anyone can help me. I use a garmin GPS mainly for ifta reporting and speedometer back up. I enter my fuel and use the state mileage reporting a which works great. Besides for some reason it hasn’t logged any info from 2/2/2021 this week. Under the “ifta” option it has a trip report option I look in there to see what my miles ran where what roads were used etc at the end of the day. And Tuesday was completely gone also state miles for that day are gone. First time this GPS ever gave me a issue. Anyone ever experience this?

    I
like the garmin 150% better then the Rand McNally I had. Maybe it was just bad luck. I never use them for routing mainly for ifta reporting and speed.

I have one many years. Let start from out of box problems:
I-80 was many years not good for trucks because stupid programmer don't understand difference with LBS and Tons.
Many roads marked as "No trucks" even the sign is for other street.
Routing algorithm is weird, sometimes Garmin will send you 10 - 15 miles around because road programmed as divided highway but it's not.
Data logs lost is already up to discussion here.
Sudden restart, route recalculation or black out.
Map data from Civil war era, even recently updated.
Display brightness suppose to automatically be low when it's dark and bright when sun light. Easy to calculate or use light sensor. Garmin doesn't think so. To adjust display brightness you have to go thru 5 submenu then back to map.
    Garbage.

Go to Garmin website, they will have step by step instructions for updating your particular model.
