I was thinking maybe works like nozzle effect, reducing section increase the exhaust gases speed and kinetic energy, spinning the turbine faster?benrab Thanks this. -
Hi Johny, your statement make sense for me.
Between cylinder head exhaust ports and turbo turbine all exhaust gas are heavy pulses.Johny41 Thanks this. -
Friday i was diagnosed with wrong turbo at one Volvo shop, took it back here @ Volvo in town, where the turbo was installed back in January, they opened it , actually was the right turbo for 2010 D13F, i saw it 12 bladed, but.. was installed without restriction plate. So, i asked them to install it, even though the technicians here are saying won't make any difference in turbo boost performances. They have to road test it in the morning with loaded trailer and laptop to monitor it , hope this fixes my low power /boost issues.

Thinking to remove the turbo actuator and inspect it the gear and sector gear, but i dont have the software tool to re- calibrate it , I may need to install new one. Anyone know if it possible to calibrate the D13 manually like this guy is suggesting on Cummins?

On the D12 the exhaust pipe that comes right off the turbo has a large restrictor inside of it as well. It almost looks like it makes the diameter of the pipe twice as small. You would have to use a grinder with a small grinding wheel to remove it as it is welded into the pipe.
