Hey @D.Tibbitt what’s the best way to get to North Bend, Oregon from Stockton, California? I’m gonna take interstate 5 up, but from there I gotta look at it haha was just wondering if you had any suggestions; how’s the weather in that area? Snow, ice?
cke, singlescrewshaker, 650cat425 and 4 others Thank this. -
Looks like the easiest way would be i5 north to sutherlin.. pickup 138 west to elkton... and pickup 38 west to reedsport... pickup 101 south from there to north bend.... I never been out in that area ..138 and 38 looks like nothing but forest so probably some big mountains thru there ... but the atlas says they are good roads and no low bridges ....i5 is not to bad ... there is a big mountain range on the cali/oregon border it is a long pull if ur heavy...another one in medford/grants pass... watch ur speed coming down into medford... it is 6 percent grade and a little curvy... u wanna do like 40 mph or less if ur max gross , guys will blow ur doors off doing 60mph down that hill but dont pay no attention to it.....theres a really good truckstop at exit 99 on i5 in oregon called seven feathers ... like 100 acres of parking onthe top level, mini grocery store inside and amazing food in the deli, highly recommended..... As far as weather , just check it before u leave , ur gonna need chains from redding to medford if its snowing . But it is pretty easy as far as mountains go...cke, singlescrewshaker, dwells40 and 4 others Thank this.

I just checked the forecast for many of the towns I’d be going through, thank god there’s not any snow haha I requested to go South for like 10,000 miles and they have a pre plan for me to go North about 600 miles away
They should program you into OnStar Navigation, “Who the hell is this?”
Thanks!cke, singlescrewshaker, 650cat425 and 3 others Thank this. -
Lol , that lane used to be my bread and butter used to run from portland to san diego , out to texas then back up to portland and repeat..... Wondering where the hell ur gonna find a load out in that area ? They probably gonna deadhead u up to eugene or salem to get some lumber . If that is the case just take the same route back as u went incke, singlescrewshaker, Tug Toy and 4 others Thank this.

I didn’t check yet but I’m not sure where the closest truck stop is because I’m gonna sit on it until Monday hahacke, singlescrewshaker, 650cat425 and 3 others Thank this.

Ur best bet would be to stay at the loves in roseburg then finish the trip on monday morning. It looks like its about 100 miles from roseburg to northbend if u go up 138 and 38.... The gps says its quicker to take 42 but it looks really really curvy with big mountains.. ..
roseburg is where ur gonna break off to 138 ... The loves in roseburg is decent. Just get there by 3pm because it fills up fast.cke, singlescrewshaker, 650cat425 and 3 others Thank this.
