Because few people have sense enough to listen to advice on here. They post well I have read all the negative stuff, but drivers like to complain. You have to start somewhere. Then a few months goes by and they post I should have listened. Then the next guy comes along and says if they are so bad then why.....:biggrin_2559:

    P. T. Barnum is most often associated with the circus sideshow and the display of freaks. While this is true, he is also the founding force behind one of America's most famous circuses: Barnum & Bailey Circus. Barnum is also affiliated with the famous quote "There's a sucker born every minute." History, unfortunately, has misdirected this quotation. Barnum never did say it. Actually, it was said by his competitor. Here's the incredible story.

    Well; somebody said it!:biggrin_2559:

I'm one of the ones who came here and read all the negative things, and thought, "well, if they're so bad...." I'm also one who came on here later and actually defended England and gave the great old line of "It's largely what you make of it." I'm also a ##### idiot.

I ended up leasing a truck from England (yeah, I already know). It went okay at first, although my DM was also new and made some mistakes that could easily have come back on me if I didn't take someone else's advice (for once) and get everything via qualcomm rather than phone. (For instance, got to Phoenix two days early on a load. They wouldn't accept it early, I sat on it for 1 1/2 days, then got another load out of Tempe. Verified with DM that I was to drop my loaded trailer in the yard in Phoenix, go to Tempe and load then head to Green Bay. Next morning, I'm up in New Mexico and my qualcomm and phone start going off from after-hours wanting to know where I was and if I delivered the load Phoenix. Customer wanted to know where their load was and no one knew, even though I'd sent all required macros when I dropped and swapped the trailer.)

Anyway, First part of last month, I delivered to Wal-Mart in N. Platte and ran out of hours waiting to get unloaded. Headed across the street to the Flying-J and parked. Just after getting to sleep, another driver used his trailer/tandems to take off the right front of my truck and bend the steer tire outward. Then he ran. No lettering on his tractor and trailer, and me and another driver ran across the parking lot after him but couldn't get a plate or DOT number. This was on a Saturday night.

Monday morning, I get the truck over to the Freightliner a few miles away. They tell me it's going to be at least a week and a half. Asked England if I could get a loaner truck (gee, we have thousands of trucks, but not one we can loan you even though ICs have been turning them in left and right.) Ask if I can do recovery until mine is fixed. (England has no trucks that need to be recovered - yeah, right.) They just left me hanging in N. Platte with very little money and no place to stay while the truck is being fixed. A week goes by. Freightliner tells me they just got the okay from England to order the parts! It's gonna be a couple more weeks till I can have the truck back. I'm more than out of money by now, and there's an important situation that arises at home, so I find a way home to take care of it and have a place to sleep and eat while the truck is being worked on. On October 24, I get a call from Freightliner. Truck is ready. Cool. About an hour later, the mail comes. There's a letter from Horizon (aka, England) saying my lease has been cancelled by them effective October 20. WHAT??? Letter doesn't say why, but it does say that I am in no way relieved of the financial end of my lease. I call England - about a dozen times, before someone finally tells me that my lease was cancelled due to a report by my DM that I had abandoned my truck. WTF??????

Tell me - how can I abandon a truck that can't be moved because it is STILL at Freightliner and not ready to drive?

Yeah, I know. Y'all told me. I didn't listen. Go ahead and laugh and tell me what a ######### I am.

Hey ed. Not here to laugh. Actually it takes a big man to do what you did and come back to try and warn others. Most just slip off the radar quietly.

Dude, so sorry you had to learn the hard way about 1 of the MANY
career grinding company's such as CR England, but you were warned.
And as Notarps said not here to laugh or belittle you. You tried and
it did not work. Learn from this experience and move on to hopfully
much greener grass. BUT do tell others of your time with these
SHARKS of the industry from the tallest of mountains and as loud
as you can what will happen to them if they fall for the same ####
that you endured at the hands of 1 of the best RIP-OFF company's
that exist. I wish you nothing but good luck in the future

From a guy who learned very, very early on the true EVIL nature
    of this beast and survived.....

They abandoned you way before you "abandoned" their truck. =Fleece. I believe they broke the contract as soon as they decided it would take them a week to pay to fix it. 24hrs tops I would say.
