Crazy but not stupid like mick foley...aka cactus jack.... But that was not the reason .... My second trip from north carolina to california ... My trainer was driving back out of california, just 20 miles west of needles . I was sleeping and all of the sudden i woke up on the floor board of the sleeper . I said wtf and as soon as i said that my trainer was reaching for his service revolver..... He jumped out abruptly and went to the back of our trailer and took cover...... I jumped out in my underwear with my nine mm in hand . I went back to him and looked under the trailer because he was motioning for me to stay back but take cover so i did by the trailer tandems.... An doped up california resident had his g.f. At gun point and she was bleeding very bad . He must of hit her several times in the face and head area.... There was also 2 children in the 4 wheeler they were traveling in. They were taken to safety by another truck that stopped with us and unknown to me my trainer was traveling with him just passing time..... My trainer was ex dea and talked to this guy and made him feel so bad about his situation that he let the girl go and walked off into the desert ... We both thought he was going to blow his own head off... Then the california highway patrol showed up... My trainer handed me his gun and told me shag #$$ and put them away asap... I took them and as soon as i started in full sprint for the cab.... I stepped on an rolling cactus.... And there is my handle.

I go by Diamond-T. my pops gave it to me back when i was a little kid growing up on the truck. 1 of his favorite old trucks and said it was a tough 1 as well. and said i was a tough one as well. So when he gave me that i have just stuck with it. I am now 28 and still use it to this day. Some of u old timers might know pop. He goes by the name NASTY DREAMS. his handle has been that for many many years. U all probably know him from his little incident back in 1979 when he drove for CARAVAN transport. He took out the scalehouse in Odessa missouri with his truck. ON PURPOSE lol.

Quite an interesting story. Thanks for sharing it with us. I enjoyed reading it, and you painted the picture so well! I wish I could've told a story about my handle like that. But, every story is special to us all, and usually will never forget it!

    Thanks again!

I just go by Vito. The father of an Italian girl I was dating in NYC back in the 70s gave it to me because he couldn't pronounce my surname properly.

Now have it on my license plate, and the door of the truck too.

mudrunner has been my handle for 25 years, it started out as road runner but after talking to three other road runners in one day I decided since i like to play in the mud with my 4 wheeler it was fitting.

Woody-... I got this early as when i was small i watched Toy Story ALL the time lol .. i am country and when i started in on CBs it was natural with friends that also have CBs ( my brother and others ) ..
Rabbit- I sort of 'inherited' this from my grandpa... He was a truck driver for over 40 years and that was his handle. He ran for Carry and AG trucking. He trucked all around the country and loved his job. He was a great old time truck driver who loved his family and always did the best at his job. I am glad that he is still around to help and advise me on CBs and life in general.

I've been Space Cowboy for a little over 20 years, and some have shortened it to Spacer. (some, as I've mentioned in another thread, have shortened it to Maurice)

A fellow pilot told me I oughta change it to WingNut. *shrug* Dunno... I'm used to SC.
