right now I'm sitting in line at prairie pride with my "legal" 88,000 pound load. lol there is probably at least 20 trucks here in the other line to get meal and it looks like about 10 with beans so if I get lucky I can get some steady sleep tonight instead of waking up every 15 minutes to pull up in line all night ugh

Long Long day. Hauling corn like crazy...along with the rest of the county. Dang lot of trucks at elevator today. Yes, thats the pits when you can't rest because you have to pull up every once and a while.
-
all our corn was runnng about 17 the other day and might be dry now all our wet corn has went in the bins on air with stirrways I honestly dont know what the dock is because I dry my own though I can tell you it costs 1200 bucks to run a 10hp 24" and a 14hp 28" for a month to take 3% out of 40,000 bu last fall at home the power company had to put up a bigger transformer cause i burnt up the old one
as for the beans they are averaging about 50bu at 11 moisture but the fields are extremely soft really wish I had rice tires or duals on the combine this year -
thanks for the update, farmermatt. we dont have any beans cause we have a hilly farm , we still shell our corn with an old pull type NewIdea 2row supersheller, only have about 340 acres of land. 1/3 corn,1/3 alfalfa, the rest in pasture. o'l milk cows eat 1/2 of what we grow. did talk to one farmer today trying to run beans, he didn't say what moisture was, just that they we tuff and casey... said he had to wait till 2 to start ,just too humid.

wheathauler, do you remember seeing any of them o'l 2row machines that pulled the gravity wagons thru the feilds back in the o'l days? couldn't get many loads/day waiting on them could we?
-
I've seen a few of those being used here and there.

Some of the amish around here probably still have them. There's a lot of amish around Yoder, ks. Many still use the buggy and horse to get around. The majority ride around in tractors.

Just had a long run so I ran till my hours were out. How's the new cow?

Dairyman, I can't remember what the drying charges are here, I don't farm myself, just truck, so I just worry about the trucking rates. They keep their grain dockage sheet on the counter in the office, I'll try to remember to look at it next time I'm in there. As for the Bears, yeah, kinda ironic the QB they traded has only lost one game so far. The Bears have got a lot more problems than just the QB though.
I got in early tonight. Loaded up some beans that have to go 50 miles away and didn't have enough time to get there. Almost did, but would've been cutting it too close. Very busy around here, a lot of grain has come out the past 3 or 4 days.
