If trucking actually paid the bills I'm sure more of us with a valid license would be interested in actually driving for a living. As it stands, I'm far better off as a tradesman. Home every night, weekends off and plenty of time to enjoy living.

All the same crap in Canada, a race to the bottom, trucking is the only industry that goes backwards in wages/rates. Guess it’s blasphemy to expect a living wage these days without spending 100 hours a week at a job. Everyone wants to work harder and wear out their trucks and bodies than work smarter and have a better quality life.....

Foreign drivers are high quality? One hit my mirror with his shipping container while driving in fast to gut into an exit with a mile of cars waiting. They do this with no courteously. Blocking the fuel pump to go inside, eat, come out, move up and go back in to take a shower. Bad driving and care of vehicles. No I do not have no respect in general for the foreign drivers.
