Here's a question for you w/s drivers and office people who monitor this site. Why can't w/s put together more dedicated routes. There are runs that can be dedicated. 15 to Montana, 90 to Washington and 5 south. Up and down 5. Butte to Idaho to Fort Collins back to Montana. These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I keep hearing that the sfs drivers can't make any money with the Delano switch with the Modesto drivers. Why not make it a dedicated run down to sfs and back to modesto. I'm getting tired of the "blowing in the wind" dispatching. I know you can request your direction but, come on. I was out 10 weeks and the last 4 of those weeks I was begging to get home. Any feed back would be good. Thanks.

prob because if they title something as dedicated they'll think driver will expect more pay and more home time...?

The idea would be more home time. I know it's crazy to think that if a driver can get home more often to see their family, maybe they would be a better employee.

    Exactly right.

And then there's always the "saved move" method. We have enough freight coming out of this one plant I live beside, to guarantee me 3000 plus miles a week dedicated. I'd be home every night and all weekend.

BUT...they use this freight to reposition other drivers. So they can get home on weekends, just like I do.

There will be a dedicated opening here, when things start to pick back up. I can wait :D

Ya rednek.....uhhh that quote is factually incorrect. See.....funny story.......this guys.....he........was..talking and he was all like...."yah?" and I was like "yah!" and then we laughed and he mentioned something about the thing, and said some stuff and that's how it all went down, so S2B is just......he's just crazy! yah! :biggrin_25512:

There are certain drivers who've been with the company for years & years that get to run the same stretch of freeway that they request. But what you brought is a good question. They definetely do run the same lanes to keep a driver on a consistent schedule. 10 weeks is some hard time to do before seeing the house!
