For hubby and I , it's a retirement job, or "life AFTER" law enforcement. Hey, I think I just put two-and-two together here. The reason why some - not all - current-cops are hostile toward ex-cop truckers has GOT to be the pay-disparity! :biggrin_2559:

Hey, you can tell I'm late wadin' through this thread! It's been entertaining, especially the self-defense videos. Hubby trucked part-time all the years he was coppin', then went full time more than 15 yrs ago. I'm the newby trucker just going into my third year -- and I am continually amazed at how much there is to learn about this industry. I worked my entire adult life in an office, so I'm still appreciatin' the "office with a view" that's continually changing -- DESPITE the fact that some company's dock workers treat TDs like doggy-doo.:biggrin_2552: What's up with that?

Sad but true. All this poor trucker was guilty of was having a tail light out.

Big thumbs up here... I have a gun and do not carry due to laws....even if the laws change that doesn't mean I am going to start opening fire...it just means I will carry my gun on me. I never understood how the ability to carry would all the sudden turn good people into Billy the Kid. It might however detour some criminals from pulling a gun on others. I'd assume you don't hear about many banks being held up in TX.

I carry any time I can. The only place I don't keep my gun in my truck is on a military base. If you look around you can find a gun store or someplace to babysit a firearm while you go on base. I carry a small safe in the truck to keep it in and am able to leave that at the gun store if needed.
