Iowa dosent het respected as much in winter as it should. Jacknife happened in front of me in Iowa. i stopped straight. Other guy well he went for a wild ride. He was guy simple mistakes really, speed screwed him in the turn but when he started slipping he slammed his brakes. He was going a good 15-20 mph faster, i waited for him to get by me, jumped out cause of some danger slow cars in the right, one of which he took with him unharmed.
The only thought going on in my head when i brought it to a stop was get on the radio and start yelling. Hit 4 ways, roof beacons everything. Cause I didn't want to get rear ended and pushed into the guy. Thank gods that the guy behind me had it on as he came around the corner.
Ill have to post it if I come across a video with it again. Since posting video directly here somewhat eludes me. Student was in the passenger seat in shock. I had taken off to test the roads, as the conditions were questionable, not un driveable but questionable glad i made that call when I did.
I quickly realized the conditions were worse than reported and took it relatively easy.
Anyway we are headed to bear river city ut to deliver a PnG load, stopped over in the house for a day. Hopefully we can drop the vans and get this kid some real flatbed training.
While home I got the samples for the door to test out. Got samples of ultra metallic and Reflctive. Think ill wind up going reflective actually. But when I had ordered the bloody logo, I didn't know a T800 was the likely final candidate so I gotta order smaller size cause im dumb. But we have the livery design finally. Very standard, and not the most original, but my criteria was huge bloody letters. But boy does that metallic shine.

I'm stuck for the moment at the Edwardsville terminal. The outbound gate is closed due to the weather and accidents.
I had just checked the DOT site and only saw 1 accident south of here on US 75. Nothing reported around here.
And you know if I was going out there, it can't be all that bad.
The roads are not too bad, but none too good either. Getting here this morning my big problem was ice forming on the windshield. I had to stop about every 20 minutes to clear it off.
And all the places I checked were out of washer fluid. Mine is getting very low, but the terminal does not have anything that can take this cold.FerrissWheel and dptrucker Thank this. -

Sorry, it was me.
I got turned around here at Edwardsville, made a right turn and forgot to turn off the blinker fluid.
That made me keep making right turns all over the place.
I was spiraling out of control, in an ever increasing arc.
Couldn't see so well so I had the high beams on and forgot to turn them off.
Next thing I know I'm in AZ, but my load is going to ND!
Forgive me.
I'm getting old and senile.
I guess I should start heading north so Swift doesn't think anything is amiss.FerrissWheel, dptrucker and MysticHZ Thank this. -

Fargo, ND at the Love's.
I'm glad this load was rescheduled to deliver tomorrow.
I could have gotten up a little earlier today and delivered this afternoon, but then I might have gotten a load out right away.
I would not have known where I would end up for the night, and I REALLY needed a shower!FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Headed east, to Maine, dropped of one from SLC in Phoenix and got a load to Maine so yay. Lift gates, multi stop so I'll probably end up sitting in PA for the weekend but whateves.
Now that I think about it I've been on the 40 twice today. Cause I came down 89 and hit it first, then came back up 17 and hit it. -
I'm not sure if I have ever had a load to Maine.
Not more than one I'm sure, since I can't remember it.
I have gotten up there a couple times as a kid, but I don't even remember much of that either.
50-55 years ago sometimes does the fuzzy thing.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
