Drug Testing

I am sorry but I can find nothing about drug testing standards in Mexico for drivers. Anybody have any suggestions?

 

Had to go down there to find out! A Mexican driver has to go to a federal health clinic if he is driving into the USA, but otherwise there is a procedure for drug testing, costs 500 pesos, cash only! What goes on inside the office, I don't know, but I took 3 drivers to get it done last week.

I am hiring Mexican drivers for my company to drive our freight from the south shore of the river down into central Mexico. It has been an interesting process.

I do not approve of Mexican drivers driving into the USA and taking our jobs for very cheap, but I have to say that I am surprised by these guys' professional abilities. They may not pay much attention to hours of service down there, but to be honest, what driver hasn't atleast been tempted to fudge some pen marks on the books for $$$! Especially when you get a long wait at a shippers' dock that takes away from your 14?

I don't like the Mexican trucking program, but I am down there in the thick of it and am seeing beyond the BS. Mexican trucks are bad for the USA as far as job security and safety goes, but as people, those drivers aren't any more crazy or dumb than us! Everybody's doing the same thing, staring at the world through a windshield, trying to keep the family fed!
