Sorry to hear about your problem. I was going to go through a private training school here in MO but I have decided it would be better to attend a company training program. At least that way if you do well, they (the instructors) have already seen you and getting an offer of employment might be easier.Good luck to you and don't give up...keep trying and apply to every company you can.

 

Get a local PO Box. You can do it online and it only costs $1.

 

Thanks for the info, everyone. I was going back and forth about Swift or a private school but I think Swift is the way to go for me as I live 10 miles North or their Phoenix location. And from what I've gathered from other posts, I wont have to stay in their roach motel during training....right?

 

right. no motel for you! Actually the people I know that stayed there said it was okay.

I'm happy for you. I LOVED the academy. I still stop in and say hi to them so maybe I'll meet you. I always go in Phil's class to say hi to him. He's such a sweetie.

Don't be misled by his "stories" he's actually teaching. You'll remember the facts because of his wild tales.

I find myself starting over after the end of a marriage and a 17 year career...I am taking this opportunity to do something I have always wanted to do - get on the road! Plan to go to the academy in March or so, this Spring. Hopefully, the economy will be a little better. How far in advance should I start the process?

LOL Yes I have new shoes! I got two pair of Nikes but find I only wear one of the pair (they just feel better driving)

when you call......try to get (ooops I forgot! no names -- I'll pm it) for your recruiter. I've found he's very honest, helpful and stays on your application. They only start classes every other week now so there's a wait. Start now and he'll put you down for the class when you want.
