Were all here. Just giving herkyboy a chance to yammer....
J/k not sure where everyone is at. Good luck to this weeks class. Keep us up to date. We understand no posts after wed. Everyone moves into their trucks and then it's time to get to work and make money....

Sad, all that just to poke at herky...

No one can get a word in edgewise when Jarbo gets on a roll......I met up with him for coffee, and he flat out would NOT let me talk. All about him.... Then he gets upset over a good deal I got on a camera, and he didn't. But...he does have an iPhone!

But seriously...on my way to Newnan, GA with some lettuce that took all day saturday to load. Was still in the field at 0600 Sat morning. Got out of Salinas at 1900 that night. They must have been distracted by Jarbo!!!!!

Very Very Sorry to all for not posting sooner.

Last day of orientation was kinda busy and YES I did sleep in my new used truck. Quite comfortably too! It was nice to get outta the hotel room.

Outstanding Marine Corps Birthday present!! OOHRAH !! SEMPER FI DO OR DIE !!
    10 NOV 2009 - 234 years young & still serving PROUDLY.

Signed our leases after picking out our trucks. Watched another movie, met the recruiters, met with maintenance to get finalized with anything trucks might need (maint, lights, anything not working, etc) Got our load bars, lock, thermometers, etc.

My truck is in great shape, only have 2 cigarette lighters not working. No sweat, there are 4 more and I don"t smoke anyway, just use them for powering gizmos. Some paint chipping on front, but that just shows character !!

Got me a 07 Pete 379 with CAT engine. Looked at the ProStars but... Not that they are not nice, just maybe not for me. My last truck was a Classic XL, and b4 that I had a W900-L so I am kinda partial to the long noses.

I am going to run her for the 3 months and see how she does. If I am not happy, I can trade in my Pete for a ProStar at that time. My payment on this Pete is lower than the ProStars, (of course since she is not new). Also no side note for a down payment, and no side note for an APU. The only problem I forsee is fuel consumption.

First load picked up Friday morning at Sapulpa yard & went to Lawton, OK. Delivered it 7 hours early. Then dh to Elk City, OK for Saturday pu. Got out of there Saturday morning and arrived here in Fernley, NV Sunday night around 2330pm. Now I am waiting to del 2night just down the road.

Since heading out Friday morning, I have 1761 miles as of last night, Sunday. Average of 587 miles per day. Not bad for my first weekend with JCT.

Wish I could deliver early like I did in Lawton but this customer only accepts loads 1 hour early. DM has me on a swap list so if anyone needs a repower on I-80 NEAR Sparks-Reno, I am AVAILABLE.

My avg fuel mpg were about what I expected 4.5 mpg pulling just under 44000 lbs, grossed 77500 lbs according to CAT Scales with almost full tanks. Came across I-40 to Kingman and then went thru Laughlin, NV heading up to Fernley, NV. Quite a few mountain grades coming thru NV. Have a 13 speed, will work on getting mpg up.

Overall I AM STILL HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. I really believe I made a great move coming to JCT and I thank everyone here on this forum for all of there VALUABLE input. I did not make my decision to sign on to JCT solely based of off info from ya"ll, but your comments and statements, and answers DEFINITELY made up the biggest majority of reasons for my decision.

Thank you to ALL !!!!!!!!!!! :occasion5:

So just curious and not being greedy, what is the best way to handle some of our delivery times, seems like that is the only thing holding me back! I have made some errors in judgement since I started like not paying closer attention to my recap then I lost a load because of it, that I committed too, opps got scolded on that. Also lost 68 cases of damaged tomatoes on a produce load! Friday was not a good trucking day! Well anyway grabbing my next load in the morning headed to Houston but cant deliver till noon on thursday, will try harder to make the powers that be happy! Con-grates Silver on your Pete! MPG's should come up when u figure out her sweet spots! So what is the proper procedure for delivering early? How serious is a right-up during your first ninety days? My DM didn't agree with it but.... i hope they just expect u to learn quickly from mistakes! Take care all,,,,,, Vette
