Can we use bubblegum to fix a gladhand seal leak?

I expect this to be bait for you to answer incorrectly.
You actually should have a few gladhand seals in your truck.

I worked for an idiot. One day he hooked up blue line. It was leaking. He licked the seal. Then no leak. He said: see... good as new.

 

I've seen that also. Some drivers wipe a little grease from the 5th wheel on it, and the leak stops. Those seals get a little hard & dry with time and just need a little moisture.
Carry a few with you in the truck because sometimes drivers will steal those from other trailers.

 

Grease works well.

 

Hell when I worked for CFI I had glad hand seals, and 2 of every light I'd had on a trailer to that point that I carried in a milk carton. I remember 1 drop yard encouraging us to remove the lights when we dropped so we'd have lights for the trailer we got back.

 

Glad hand seal are the cheapest, easiest to change and arguably most often changed part(especially d/h operational) on a truck.
Could someone explain why they don't have extra?
