I could use the multi quote post but just will say this. When it comes to brown, the experiences will vary. Its rough to start at some locations, others not so much.

Like others i think i took a 20-25k pay hit in the transition year. Filing taxes this year and made more than i had annually vs the last 7.

Also the insurance is top notch. 18k surgery and only had to pony up a couple hundred. Mainly due to a pathology charge.

i feel bad for those affected by the sell off. Hopefully some parcel locations can take in those willing to jump ship.

    @Super34333
Please be THANKFUL for what you both receive and have.
    NOTE (1):
    1)
    $57,000 a year divided by 12 months = $4,750 a month.
    2) $57,000 a year divided by 52 weeks = $1,096+ change per week.
    NOTE (2):
    1)
For many millions of unemployed or underemployed Americans, $57,000 a year would be a dream come true.
    2) For many millions of HOMELESS Americans, $57,000 a year would be a dream come true.
    3) For many millions of minimum wage or otherwise low paid FULL TIME workers, $57,000 a year would be a dream come true.
    4) For many millions of minimum wage or otherwise low paid FULL TIME workers who do work a LOT of overtime, $57,000 a year would be a dream come true.
    NOTE (3):
Many millions of FULL TIME truck drivers, both OTR & local, do NOT earn $57,000 a year. For these individuals, $57,000 a year would be a dream come true.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Is it ok to feel sorry for people who are hard working and got laid off from their decent paying job due to economic catastrophe caused by govt officials in the name of stopping a so-called pandemic??? Yes it is. But don't fault a guy for wanting more money if he's ready to work for it. He did what was necessary to get on with an good company in UPS. All those other kinds of people you are mentioning have the SAME KIND of opportunity to pursue a career with ups (or something equivalent) as much as this guy. Just because they haven't isn't anybody else's fault but their own.

    1) I will NEVER fault a guy or gal for wanting more money & working hard to get it. If anything, I say more power to the guy or gal. By all means, go for it.
    2) All I'm asking is that someone be THANKFUL for what he or she receives or has.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

I totally 100% agree with you.
    1)
I feel sorry for ANYBODY who gets laid off or terminated from a job, REGARDLESS of what the job was, or the amount of money being paid in the employee's paycheck, at the time of the job loss.
    2) I would NEVER in a million years wish any kind of job loss on anybody. I myself have been down that road in the past. Being unemployed, or underemployed, is outright HORRIBLE.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

    I PARTIALLY agree with you.

    1) There are many people who are FULLY capable of both helping themselves & bettering themselves into a much better job, along with a much better life, but don't for one reason or another.
    2) However, there are also many people, due to life circumstances, who are NOT able to get a better job, or take advantage of opportunities that are afforded to various other people.
    3) Again, this is why I asked that @Super34333 please be THANKFUL for what he receives and has.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Boy, I wish I would have been on my game with stock market trading for this one. I didn't even realize until now, in the 24 hour span that this sell of was announced, TFI stock rose over $16 a share (and was still on a very healthy incline through last week). I would have dumped 20k into it the day of the announce had I been thinking about it at the time. C'est la vie.

People like yourself is what keep the wages as low as they are. You're one of those you should be happy you have a job types. Trucking is a dangerous time consuming profession and one should be well compensated for.
