Honestly, I created "tripod" for two(2) reasons...1- been all over US,Canada,Mexico and never heard it B4...2- gotten laughs to the extent the "incoming" driver was chuckling so much before he started talking that he had to catch his breath to talk. I figured that was the least I could do to make a drivers day or second, we need all the humor we can get. I gota buddy outta Toledo thats bald, he made "landing strip" his handle.

I heard a guy out somewhere hollering "Hey numbnuts!" After a bit, "Numbnuts" hollered back, and the first guy goes, "Hah! You thought I was jokin."

Handle are "Earned" and or "Given"
Self imposed "Titles" aren't worth the "novelty" of the concept.

Mine "Fried Tater" has nearly 60 year history behind it,it has only passed
once its predecessor has passed on.My Dad retired it nearly 25 years ago due to early health issues.
I'm 3rd Gen and Proudly carry on the tradition from my "chain-drive" ancestor(Pops Hile, pronounce "high-lee") 53 Years behind the wheel feeding his family. He carried left over fried taters ever day for lunch because thats all there was from his meager wages and 7 kids at his dinner table.A kid that road the rails following the harvest at 14 and schooled to 10th grade did the "American Dream"!

    God Bless You Pops Hile . . . . . . .

Fine...handles are given...whatever...BUT Im NOT going by "YouMoron"....think up my own.....tradition broken....break out the prozac. Besides, rules and tradition were created to be broken, always a better idea after-the-fact.

I've never been a fan of earned nicknames....I don't mind if friends call me an earned name, but I would never self identify by a name someone else has given me. If it were something family used since I were tiny then sure ok, but I'm a big boy now.

Hi, Forget what all other people think and figure out what YOU are like & behaviors, and you will come up with a good name! OR you can wait and go out on the Road without one and in a short time you will be given one!
One way or another you will get a NAME so do not get stressed out about IT!!!

I have an unhealthy obsession with turbocharged engines, and love to go stupid fast on custom bikes.

So, I've earned 2 names over the last several years. "Turbo" and "Biker Trash".

I stick to "Turbo". It isn't really a handle as it is a general nick name.

I always liked using my first name and the company. It's a little more personal and not of the super trucker mentality.

Allow me old friend I'd thought I'd tell you that my uncles B-24 from WW11 was named Wham Bam Thank You Mam.

When I was a teenaged driver in my beat-up old Chevy 4x4, I 'tried on' several
billybadass handles, kinda like the other guys I knew. None of 'em really stuck though,
until someone noticed that this pickup-driving, straw-hat-wearin' fella always had a stack of science fiction novels on my floorboard.
Fella I knew snuck over to my house one night and shoe-polished "Space Cowboy" along
the top of my windshield. Some have shortened it to Spacer, and others just called me Maurice.
