    Finished orientation today...doin the "waiting on a trainer" thing now...probably tomorrow evening. Oh well, one more night in a nice hotel bed at the terminal.

    Nothing really to report. Just your standard Werner orientation that's been talked about ad nauseum.

    Schneider does for one, there may be others. At SNI it's called the "Home Run Program", I'm on it, and it's great!!:yes2557:

    ybr; Yeppers, I like it alot. My wife has health problems, and this has given me more time to be with her, as well as get things done I wouldn't be able to if I was still on the 3 week out, 2-3 days at home thing.
    There are some drawbacks, but in my spot in life, I can work with them.

    Draw backs;
    1. I have to slip seat trucks. For the most part, it isn't bad, but in my "pod", as SNI calls it, we have had one super pig. Left me an absolutely filthy truck complete with full peebombs. That guy has been dealt with, and he cleaned up his act to some extent. The other guy with me is similar to myself, he always try to leave the truck in better condition than when picked up, not freshly detailed, but a good job of cleaning up after himself.
    2. You make less money. Since you drive for 2 weeks, and off one, you make less. That isn't much of an issue with me since other things take a higher priorty for myself.

    I pick my truck up in Woodhaven Mi. at our yard there usually on a Wednesday morning, but that depends on if I get back on the previous Wednesday. Sometimes it could be a Thursday, or even a Tuesday when I get back, so I just come back out the following week on the same day I got home.

    Each "pod" is a group of three drivers, sharing two trucks. I usually drop one truck, and pickup the other when returning to work.

    I guess another possible drawback is that you have to make sure you get all your stuff out of the truck when you go home.

    Since these are older Century Class shakers, you can bet the antennaes are garbage, marginal at best. I bought a good antennae and visegrip type mount that I can take off quickly, as well as use the magnetic mount antennae for my XM radio. I also keep all my clothes in some of those RubberMade containers on the upper bunk, and restrain them with the netting. I can movein/out in about an hour.

    One thing to consider, if it should be, is that each truck shifts, runs and handles a bit different. It takes maybe an hour or so to get reacquainted with each truck, but after driving each one a few times, you get to know each ones quirks and it goes smoothly.

    Any other info you might want, just let me know, I try to answer your questions.

    Have a goodun.:biggrin_25525:
