I have been with england for over a year. I thought i was doing a good job electronic logging, but today i was told termination is next level for me. I am on log level 2. Seems logging department will not work with me or listin to my probloms. I was told if u drive in violation & u mark safe place to park etc etc & call logs they will fix it.. Looks like all that has changed.Anyone else having issues with electronic logs ????

Isn't England going to all electronic logs?
-
Yes, thats what i am using. Not a fan, But cant seem to find a job thats better right now.
-
Hey truckernewyork, I didn't see that last part as far as electronic logs go. My bad. I've never done electronic logs so i'm not much help to you. So what's the biggest drawback to these things anyway? Besides the fact you can't really fudge it like a paper comic logbook.

Running out of your 11 hour. You can not move the truck. If you do its a violation. England told us it wouldnt be that bad, but i guess that was a lie. You feeel trapped. Sometimes you wont eat or have to park in a place that is not ment for trucks.
paperless is not all bad, it is easier & when your out of hours you shut down for a full 10. No more doing favors for dispatch! I seem to be better rested.Baack Thanks this. -
Well thats a good point in the right direction for the driver. Keeps safety from trying to tell you to move the truck on off duty time too.
Seemed like CR always had a problem with drivers logs. Lord knows even with paper every driver out there seemed to be a t defcon 2 -
If you run outta of time on your 11 hrs at a shipper of receiver or what not and they wont let you stay. You can legally drive less than 50 miles to find a safe place to park.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
If your logs are paperless? Do you still file trip-paks?
-
This feature is meant to assist you when in a bind. IE you must move, but are out of hours.
Unless you're creating your own "bind" by running up against the clock all the time.....not good.
You'll need to start looking for a place to park as much as an hour in advance.
It sux, but it's the only way you're going to prevent this issue. -
actually they did not say you can just drive past your 11 hours and mark safe place to park. you can only do that per fmcsr if there is adverse conditions!
not because you don't bother to properly trip plan.
let me help you out here. buy a pocket exit guide from a truck stop costs about 5 bucks and when you get to 1 hour left to drive (usually the q-com makes a loud Bing followed by the little red triangle that flashes on the q-com) start looking for a place to shut down.
btw i have been with England for over 2 years now and have never reached a level 1 on my logs. and yes i am on paperless logs (8months now)
if you don't call the log dept at least 2 times a month to go over violations then your not staying on top of it.
