i have had the miss fortune of working for them the last few months and found a trend that they scam many drivers ...1st they hire you as 1099 2nd no workers comp 3rd no ins 4th you dont get paid for cross docking 5th you dont get paid for loading or un loading there trucks in jersey..5th you dont get detention pay or layover pay and if your truck breaks down oh well they send you home by bus....they had 5 drivers quite the day i started with them i have worked for a few otr companys but this place takes the cake ...wrecked truck that have been rebuilt and at this time over 29 percent of the trucks have been red tagged at dot stops.....out of service.............and they have no plan to get you home at all you may get a pass through maybe 4 to 12 hours at home but no home time in 3 months i was home on days off never and had 3 pass througs that they consider home time ...........yep im at home sleeping and they consider that home time get real...........you will sit for hours at docks and then to make things worse you get to be a city driver 2 or more days a week as a tema drive i had to sit ( ride ) in the truck for the day and help unload for free no pay at all then the next day i drove as city driver for a wopping 42 cents per mile then worked all day 12 hours for 180 or 190 then had to unload (cross dock ) for a few hours then your loaded hit the road what after a 16 hour shift then i had to driver all night ...........wtf.........yep a ####y company they could be a great company but the owner and dispatchers dont care about you or the truck if it breaks down thats the only way to get it repaired or fixed the shop is in jersey and the yard there also...........so if you relly need a job go towork for them get every thing in writting and ask kots odf questions ...........
and if thats not bad enough for you there comdata card ore turned off almost weekly and your stuck with no fuel for a day or longer unless you pay out of your pocket....... -
watch out for this company your a 1099 employee no workers comp no ins notime off they might get you home on a pass through once a week or so a few hours at home not conisdered real time off but hey it is a flakey company to work for period as a last job you can get thing...you will load and unload many truck for free thats right cross docking is free you dont make a dime doing it or un loading even a whole truck...they have no plans to get you home time at all you have to fight to get 2 days at home and then they wont call you back to work they say sorry no truck... they hire many many drivers each month and cant keep any of them only the lost cant get a job types stay at all ......they have a high red tag rate also 29 percent red tagged truck and more you get to be a city driver to at 42 cents per mile and zip code miles always so you make maybe 200 a day city driver then sit and ride all the next day with your co driver and help them un load for free all the next day //////
be warned they will get you but good and if you quite before 90 days which you will they have a75 dolla charge for a class that you never get and they give you a 3 dollar book and tell you to read it and thats your 75 dollars class on booze funny but sad and oh yes your drug test you also have to pay for if you quite more b.s. -
i worked for this company and saw the same things your reporting,
i was hired as a driver but they stuck me in a team position.plus never gave me my commdata, but told me when fueling tell them my card is in lost status. i had problems with fueling. the number didnt work so they held my lic at the truckstop, i was fed up with s.u.e so i walked away and let my partner deliver the load back to new york his home terminal.
i was told i abandond the load. i have not heard from them since. im looking for a report or complaint but havent got one .so im checking my dac. -

I have worked for the company twice in the las ten years.... everything they promised was given, there is not insurance, but it is not offert, and the last time I was injured and they did had worksmen comp, they also have a bunch of lazy drivers... the mileage is good though.

I have had the pleasure of working for North Caribbean for a couple years now. I started off as a team driver but I put up with it and they had me in my own truck within 2 weeks. An 05 Kenworth that just got out of the shop but was as close to perfect as you can ask for.
While its true that their tough on you, they have never been misleading. I have had months were I have gotten thousands of miles and months where I barely break over 1000. They have been completely forward with me. As long as your willing to work, there will always be work. I have never been sat against my will, there is always a load available for you to take.
Yeah they might have you work in the city for a day or two but those are the needs of a company that ships out of a city near there terminal, YOU WILL GET STUCK TRANSFERRING TRAILERS AND CARGO but most of the time they will reward you with any request if you help out willing and quickly. I'm not saying I've gone home everytime I ask to, but I've been around long enough that I know when the load going closest to my home leaves so I volunteer to stick around for city work. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to get what you want, but thats life.
Just be honest with them and they're honest with you. Let them know ahead of time when you need downtime and remind them daily about it. Try to plan out your load scheduel with them so it gets you back to your destination.Heavy Haul Thanks this. -
ps I never threathen my dispatch... maybe that's why they help me out. I couldnt imagine helping someone out when they give me #### from the get go. the dispatchers are the same way. They stay upfront with me, tell me how it is and I do my best to help them out. That's how you get on a dispatchers good side rookies. You got to expect things not to go you way when your a couple weeks into the company. Seniority is huge.

I FOUND THAT NOT ONLY DID THEY KEEP MY LAST PAY CHECK FOR 900 OR SO THEY ALSO KEEP MY CO DRIVERS CHECK FOR OVER 2000 DOLLARS AND IF YOU ADD THAT UP EVEN 2 DRIVER PER MONTH AT 10000 DOLLARS THEY HAVE A SCAM GOING 4 SURE .......IF YOU HAVE TO HAVE A JOB WORK FOR THEM JUST LONG ENOUGH TO GET HTE EXP TO MOVE ON I DID
MY NEW JOB 1 K A WEEK 44 CENTS PER MILE AND WORKERS COMP.WOW A REAL COMPANY AND JUST TO THINK I WAS SO HARD UP FOR WORK I WAS WILLING TO RUIN MY RECORD TO WORK FOR THEM SAD BUT TOO TRUEHeavy Haul Thanks this. -
Jaiden you obvisously proved the point that you only stayed with this company for a week or two and a racist. First off you would know there are plenty of drivers who been here a while, Robert V, Racid, Victor, the Jimmy's, Richard and myself.
Second off if you want to get home that many times a week, of course this job was not right for you. This job requires a majority of the lanes be covered. I enjoy being on the road for a couple months so it does not phase me.Heavy Haul Thanks this.
