I've got all my logs and it does take up some space in the basement. But it's fun to go back to 1978 and see what I was doing and what I was cheating about!!!!!

Carriers only have to keep them for 6 months. -
It is only 6 months, my mistake.

Be advised if you go into Canada they require logs for the past 14 days .
kickin chicken Thanks this. -
I keep the full month in the logbook. I could really care if DOT wants to flip through something that's already been checked and verified by Drivers Daily Log! My logs stay together until the 8th day of the next month then on day 1 last month gets written on the front with the days out for my per diem for taxes then put in my log file envelope!. SO WHAT if DOT wants to look! If you're any good at your job that log book will look as good 2 years ago as it did today!
What I think is so stupid is these guys that like to fold the small page logs in that pretty way thinking that the DOT cop won't unfold them! I just ROFL when they start to unfold them because they KNOW you are hiding something and they just keep unfolding! Yep it takes a little of my time, but the entertainment value is fun watching the driver with the ariamigurumi aspirations fidget! Then they hand the book back with the pages still unfolded! I think they do it for the ha ha s! -
I still have the ones for oct. 91 when i started just in case i need them for anything. Better to have them and not need them than need them and not have them.

I have all my logs since I started driving in '97. Couple of reasons, if I ever get audited I need to prove my hours, also, if I ever change companies and need to total up my mile of exp. I need someway to do it.
