... and settled in at the Days Inn West. Turned in our CRE truck... said our goodbyes and headed out. The flight from SLC was smooth... as was the cab ride (provided by JCT) to the hotel... nice guy that picked us up.
The room is good... we lucked out and got one on the end so it feels a bit more private. Ordered lasagna and salad in... now we are "down" until orientation on Monday! Wow... feels great.
Haven't run into any other JCT's yet as we are in for the night!
Anyone starting next week as well?? Sure looking forward to meeting ya'll here or on the road someday soon... we hope!

We've appreciated this discussion on hauling tomatoes... that is one load we have not hauled yet. It is obvious that it would be a more sensitive load then most others and that proper loading makes all the difference. This info gives us a heads up on it when the time comes we get a load of them.
What other produce items are in this extra sensitive category that you have hauled?
Thanks you guys are great!

Dabs,
I am feeling both good and bad. I am currently moving with a upper respiratory infection. Other than that I am doing well; I appreciate you asking and going out your way. Glad to see you made it okay in that puddle jumper. Do us all a favor and post pics of the truck next wednesday please.

Yup... I sure will, I'll have the camera in hand! Get better... sending you positive vibes for a speedy recovery!

Well on Thursday we have been under contract with JCT for one year, and a good and prosperous one at that. We have almost 300K paid miles, you can figure the money. I have no major complaints about the operation here. My DM is a blast, we are lucky to be on her board. My home time has been what I expected. I did get to take two weeks off this summer and go camping with my grandkids. I made arrangements with Shannon to make my truck payments by mail while I was off. He is easy to talk to, but very business like. I have learned that a little humor and a humble attitude gets you a long way with the night and weekend dispatchers. For the most part they are very helpfull. This is also true of all the office staff that I have had contact with. Anyone that has come to this thread, and mocked us, are just jealous, or have no idea what they are talking about.
This is a great company to work with. My work ethicks are from the old school, and I don't turn down work. I have not refused a load since I started. Gripped a lot but took it any way.
I hope by starting this thread I have helped a lot of you. I hope you all have the success that my wife and I have had with JCT. You guys keep this going, and I will check in from time to time. See ya on the road
