In the dry van side of the world, at least the company I work for, 4th quarter is usually the slowest. Nov has the big Xmas push on the retail side, and with most everything else, it bottoms out until Feb. when things start to pick back up. Thank goodness the higher ups had some sort of fore thought and got out of the automotive stuff years ago. But anyrate, I would assume the reefer world has its highs and lows, and places to land and places, times to stay away from. Used to go to Calexico alot, and sometimes the cooling or packing places (not sure of the proper term) in Yuma, would see trucks lined up all over the place, and other months, see a whole lot of nothing. How much does that play into your day to day dealings?

BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!!!!!

Thats funny right there, I dont care WHO ya are!!SilveradoBlue Thanks this. -
During fall months yuma usually start getting busy cuz that's when the mexican produce are at the high season. During summer is normally over in salinas. When produce season is over we haul a lot of cheese, tyson, pilgrims pride, perdue, otis spunkmeyer, etc. We also haul glass bottles, tiles, tuesday morning products. We do have highs and lows but its not as volatile of difference as yall see over in dry van or flatbeddabs Thanks this.

How are the trucks equip'd there? I understand that you have to wait a certain time b4 having a apu installed on the truck. What about power invertor? What is allowed, on specifically not allowed?
Do they have any onboard scale or air suspension air pressure gauges? What about the trailers? -
Can anyone tell me if JCT hires out of east TN ? I live in Johnson City,Tn and don't see their hiring area online.
Thanks for a great thread also!!!! -
One more question/s then I'm done, for tonight at least.
What about tolls and scales. I see on their website, shows ez-pass, pikepass, prepass. Are thye billing those tolls and prepass back to the driver?
Does the company pay any sort of layover? -
Ok, one one more.
What about deadhead miles, is there times that deadhead miles are paid? How much deadhead do you all typically incur? -
also what are JCT freight lanes? does JCT go to the southeast?
-
Yes JCT does do SE.
