Lack of communication is an understatement with Uber. I've hauled several loads for them where the receiver had no appointment time set up for me even though it was clearly spelled out in the ratecon. A couple months ago I arrived at a shipper only to find out that they had been attempting to contact Uber by phone and email for 3 days to cancel the load. The icing on the cake was that Uber wouldn't pay TONU on the load because the shipper refused to pay it based on their attempts to cancel. Finally last month I arrived at a shipper to pick up a short haul load (240 miles) that delivered later the same day. I was there early, checked in and found out that this load was a reschedule and Uber owed the shipper $100 for a reschedule fee. I immediately called Uber and they assured me that they would get it taken care of immediately. Over an hour later still nothing, and I called Uber again stating that I now wouldn't be able to make the delivery on time, and the shipper was going to tack on another $100 for yet another reschedule fee. I hung out for another hour and Uber still hadn't fixed anything, so I called and told them to take me off the load. I wasn't going to waste 2 days on a low paying short haul load that they screwed up. I left and had an email waiting for me at home that I now had a short notice cancellation on my scorecard. I replied that they can now cancel my carrier agreement with Uber. I'm no longer interested in wasting my time with them.
Uber freight is terrible!!! Beware

Well the good news for the folks at Uber is that Uber Freight really improved in Q4. They only lost $41 Million in total EBIDTA in Q4, compared to $55M in Q4 2019 and $73M in Q3 2020. Nice work Uber!
Midwest Trucker, magoo68 and PPDCT Thank this. -
Well, they finally screwed me. Shorted my load pay by $505 last week. "We'll look into it" according to customer service, which if past issues are anything to go by means they don't care and wont do anything.
I could live with not getting an hour or two of detention.
I could forgive not getting TONU.
I could ignore them marking on my scorecard that it was somehow MY fault I had to cancel a load short notice when THEY didn't specify the proper trailer needed.
But no point in driving for them if they blatantly refuse to pay what the ratecon states. Ratecon stated $2,940, uploaded a lumper receipt for $505 which they authorized, approved, and claim to pay for, yet they only paid $2,435. Shorted the $505 charge for the lumper.
And nobody in their support department cares, as usual.Last edited: Mar 2, 2022
PPDCT, Dave_in_AZ and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this. -
Then the receipt from a lumper needed to be uploaded.
Maybe they don't like your receipt. Maybe it was poorly handwritten, no TAX ID present, or that facility never had lumpers in their records.
Maybe they need to verify that it was legit. You can't blame them. There is a reason they still operate at a loss.... perhaps getting false receipts and lumper claims was a part of the problem and now they are extra careful.
I am sure they will adjust the rate if everything was good. Keep calling them...Siinman Thanks this. -
Actually might be taken care of now. Left a review on the Uper Freight app mentioning it and got a call 2 hours later from somebody saying they looked into it and I should be receiving payment. Time will tell.Siinman Thanks this. -
They will pay you.Siinman Thanks this. -
Side note, this is one of the back and forths via email with their (seemingly brainless) customer support before the phone call:
ME
Load xxxxxxxxx, ratecon stated $2,940, *approved* lumper receipt for $505, yet only got paid $2,435. Short $505
UBER
Hi Michael,
Thanks for reaching out.
I can confirm that the express code xxxxxxxxxxx status is used on our system for Lumper Requests in the amount of $505.00. You will only be reimbursed if you only pay the lumper fee outside of your pocket.
ME
So you CHARGE ME the lumper fee? RateCon stated $2,940, yet I was only paid $2,435. You deducted the lumper fee from the load pay.
UBER
Hello, I am showing that Uber Freight issued a comchek for load xxxxxxxxx to the driver for $505.00 to cover the cost of the lumper. If you do not believe that the driver requested this comchek, or you believe the comchek was not used, please let us know and we will work to get this resolved. Please reach out with any further questions.
ME
And you deducted that $505 from the payment of the load. Why? Ratecon stated $2,940 but you only paid $2,435.Dave_in_AZ, TheLoadOut, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
Siinman Thanks this.

Old insurance expired, had my agent send a new certificate to RMIS (and I was CC'd in the email so I know they did), and my uber account is still locked. Emailed them, no reply, called them and they'll "send a message to have onboarding check". But still nothing done.
Have to wonder if they 'banned' me for not letting them steal the money from me.Dave_in_AZ and TheLoadOut Thank this.
