get a good contract lawyer IN YOUR STATE, he’ll do the research and reach out to others about what is needed in the contract. The state laws for liabilities and arbitration are different in every state.
Also have the lawyer write a cheat sheet for you and the new lease holder so there is a simple explanation for everything in the contract, this helps a lot. -
The DMV in Connecticut wants to see an executed copy of a compliant lease agreement to allow the owner operator to keep his base plate but use her company as the carrier responsible for safety. Uncommon, many just need the DOT number, but CT is known for regulatory overreach.GYPSY65 Thanks this.

Maybe I’m wrong? Been wrong. Very wrong once before -
Yeah michigan had a few in the irp office who said I needed to have this added but I told them when they become a regulator, I will but that’s what we have and that’s legal. I can see ct being an issue with it.
