Hello... I just recently completed orientation with squire transportation and will be heading out with my over the road trainer later this week. Any advice from previous squire trainees would be greatly appreciated!

I am scheduled for orientation in couple of weeks (Indiana). Very excited. How was the orientation? Wish you luck in your journey.

I start with Squire on 12/14 and I'm looking for any feedback on what to expect. I drove OTR in 2002 so I have an idea, but if anyone has worked for them or are with them now any feedback would be appreciated.

How's it going out there Maxbet?

I started with Squire on Nov 30th. They mostely run east od Mississipi. Orientation is for a whole week and it is very in details (My orientation was in Indiana). Orientation is done by saftey director. Then I got on the road with a trainer. Over the road training is for 4 to 6 weeks. You do not do team driving while on training. You do most of driving. Trainer will talk you thru everything. So far I am very happy with training. One of my friends started with PAM at the same time and he is not happy because he is trainer is all about miles, he sleeps while the trainer drives and vice versa and basically he is team driving and racking up miles for his trainer.

Completed company orientation. Got hired. Got to take Christmas at home! Trainer picking me up at home. Good Start I'm looking forward to getting out there and learning another trade.

Finished my over the road training with my trainer. Got my own truck and have been running hard ever since. Had some fun in the sdnow and ice first trip out. Already got 10k behind me...

How has life been at Squire the last couple of weeks. I have been talking with the recruiter in CA trying to see if my B.S. decoder ring still works. Hope all is going well.

Can anyone tell me if they take on drivers w/o recent otr exp.?been driving local for past 7 years. Thanks!

Here is the recruiter that I talked to at Squire. He seems like a nice guy. He spent about 1/2 hour talking to me on the phone answering questions even though I haven't even gone to a CDL school yet. My B.S. decoder ring didn't seem to be required but who knows? I think all you need is 6 months to go to Knight Freight or Knight Refrigerated. I'm not sure if local driving counts or not. Good luck!
