You're so welcome. I like him, he's very honest and straight forward. Plus he really stayed on top of things for us and for the others I've suggested talk to him. :yes2557:

NANA I HAVE NEVER WORKED FOR SWIFT ALTHOUGH I DON,T SEE THEM AS ANY DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER COMPANY THAT IS WHY I ASKED IF SOMEONE COULD RECOMMEND A COMPANY THAT REALLY STANDS OUT AS A TOP RATED COMPANY FOR TRAINEES ----------I USE CAPS JUST SO DON'T HAVE TO READ SMALL PRINT its a pain to read I DON'T YELL EVER.
BUT I HAVE FOUND UNSKILLED TRAINERS THAT LIKE TO DO IT AND FEEL THE LACK OF THAT SKILL SEEMS TO RIDE RIGHT ALONG WITH THERE TRAINING ABILITY AND SHOULD NOT BE ALOUD TO BE A TRAINER UNTIL THEY LEARN SELFCONTROL:biggrin_25525:whatdoyathink?

I didn't complain about you using caps. In fact I explained why and when I use the cap lock. Frankly whether you use upper or lower case doesn't matter to me.

It's ok man, just meant to be a joke.
I know the feeling, even with my specs on, I need good light.
Seriously though, you can always try what I'm doing now. Click on font size and go up a number. This is 4 instead of the usual 2.

As far as trainers go, some people are cut out for it and others aren't. I don't think it's something you can learn either, if you don't have a natural desire to help others.
I couldn't do it. Not because I didn't care, but just a lack of patience. There were times when I would back the truck into tight spots when I should have given the student the opportunity to learn. I just didn't want to wait ten minutes for him to do something I could do in one. Not saying that's right, just being honest.
Also, I tried to do most of the driving in mountains and inclement weather, for my own peace of mind.
But I never degraded anybody or treated them as anything but a welcome guest in my truck.
I just wasn't cut out for it and can admit it.

My hat's off to you if you enjoy being a trainer and are good at it. Lord knows we need more like you.

What is with the myth that you have to start out with one of to those cdl mill trainng companies?
I don't understand why someone entering a new career would not set themselves up for success. If I wanted to be a lawyer, I would attend the best college I could, If I wanted to become a photo journalist again, I would seek out the best path.
If you want to become a successful professional truck driver, do your research, attend a top quality school, then apply to smaller, local companies. Granted, thes smaller are not hiring 40 to 60 newbies a week, and they are not always set up online so that you can apply in your pajamas using your laptop while watching "Dog the bounty hunter" on t.v.. No, you have to get up early, shower, get presentable, gather you school transcripts and all and go in and talk to them. Sure, you wll get turned down, some will never hire a newbie, some aren't hiring at the time, some wll consider it, and so on. You may have to do this a few days in a row. However, after you get hired and begin your career as a truck driver, you will be better off then the drivers that got hired in an hour by a training company, and you stand a better chance of making it in this indusrty.

Truck driving involves making good sound judgments. Obviously the decision to go through a cdl mill and work for a training company that has a turnover rate of drivers at and over 100% shows a lack of sound judgment making skills, which is why for so many it is only the first bad decision in a line of bad decisions they will make. Like, not getting to to look when backing, taking a turn too fast, not budgeting their finances on the road, turning down this load, or thinking they can deliver that load on time, and so on.

Look, it is your future, your career, your life, take the wheel and be in charge, or put it in the hands of a company that doesn't care, whatever you choose you are the one that has to live with it. I believed I was worth more, capable of more and deserved more so I invested in myself and went to a good school and got hired on with a smaller company that treats me and all it's drivers well.
