Roehl's Driving School

Day 7 - We were in the classroom for 2 and a half hours today. Then we went downtown today after we did our full pre-trip inspection. Went on a lot tighter corners and did very well our instructor said for us three that are training in his truck we are ahead of the class by a day because we weren't suppose to take the tight corners until tomorrow. I did my first pull through between two trailers today with very sharp turns that you can only make in 1st gear.When we got off our 15 minute break at 3:30 we went down to the range and did pull through with two trailers then did 45 degree backing between two trailers. First time I did it i messed up really back had 5 pull ups second time I did it had no pull ups. Only downside for the day is we have 4 chapters to do for homework tonight then 5 to do for tomorrow. if anyone has any questions feel free to ask me

 

Day 8 - spent 2 hours in the classroom then went out on the road for the rest of the morning went on our lunch then when we got back from lunch I did my turn in driving on the road today and my shifting personally was terrible today. Then we went and did some more 45 degree backing then serpentine backing and that went ok not as well as I thought but not to bad for a first try. The rest of the evening was on 45 degree backing and we did a couple and uncouple to a trailer.

 

Day 9 - Spent 2 hours in the classroom along with taking a test today got an 80 on both my tests that I have taken so far. Then went out on the road my shifting to start was good until after lunch my shifting went downhill my instructor said I did fine but I still need to get that double clutch in I found the secret with the only shifting once to get it in gear and kinda got in trouble for it. But my turns, changing lanes, and holding my speed with the speed limit is excellent. But overall my instructor said I will do fine as a driver for Roehl tomorrow we have our meeting with the director and we are also doing log books tomorrow for hours of service. My 45 degree backing is also excellent max pull ups I did tonight was 1.

 

day 10- spent 2 hours in the classroom recieved our road atlas and truck stop guide books along with our log books. Then went and did some road driving. Steve took it easy on us today and my shifting, cornering, setup for turns were excellent. Only bummer was had to cut the day short we ended class at 4:30pm. Don't ask me why cause I forgot to ask I was to busy backing the truck in the parking spot lol.
day 11 - Switched from class in the morning to class in the afternoon. Did our pre-trip inspections in the trucks then went down on the range and practiced our 45 degree backing some more in the actual place where we will be doing them for our cdl test. Then went on the road today for me the shifting was ok downshifting just need to get the rpms down to 800 instead of 900 and everything will smooth out. Recieved our DRG in class today (Driver's Reference Guide) . Went over homework and our test that we had to do for homework. Have to do 3 chapters for homework this weekend but we only have 5 more chapters until we are done with the book. So i'm just going to do them all this weekend. We are getting more books on monday and testing all day tuesday on top of our cdl test.
Day 12 - We are going to be down on the range today doing nothing but practicing our 45 degree backing for our test on monday and tuesday.
