You can probably find them but 36 foot is pushing it. This certain trailer is a stretch and opens to 60ft. Something like this would be more than what you'd want. Just wanted to give perspective on the deck size as compared to an actual dump truck.

We have a couple new XL Mini Decks with 34' of clear deck. As far as a fixed trailer I'm not sure of any distances above the 34' clear in the well of these although I have no doubt there are ones out there with 36' or even more as Landincoldfire said.

cke Thanks this.

if he is crafty and doesn’t mind running tall - he might find an old 35 t mechanical trailer with solid rear deck that has 29’ in the well. He could then use ramps or blocks to get the front end on the rear deck. Let air out of both sets of tires on the dump truck. My guess is you could get under 15’ maybecke, Landincoldfire and Dino soar Thank this. -
Dude, you aren't going to find a lowboy for that cheap unless it is complete garbage. A decent 35 Ton trailer would set you back 30-50Gs. May get one for 20Gs at auction.
A landoll in fair shape is going to set you back 30Gs not to mention the PTO needed. But still a better idea that a lowboy. So much easier to keep loaded. I have loaded dumps on them and been under 14' tall and EASILY under 80K gross.shooter19802003 and cke Thank this. -
As far as getting extra work for a RGN it depends on your networking skills and your willingness to go the extra mile sometimes at a moments notice as you will only start out as a backup to whoever is doing the work now. That is if you can convince someone to insure you for typically 1/2 mil cargo and you can convince a customer to trust you with their equipment and their customer. I am not saying it cant be done as I have done it but it can take years to get it all in motion.
As far as a 5th wheel towing rig goes if you are reasonably good at welding a diy unit can be built for a economical price if your tractor is equipped with a hydraulic system. I personally have worked with 2 different units and was reasonably happy with both.cke Thanks this.
