Of the big chains, TA is lowest on my list. A few of the country ones are OK, and I have slept in one a few times when I've been desperate and nothing else was around. Any TA in or near a big city, though, I will avoid at all costs. I'd actually be happy to see them bought out.

Of course they're losing money. They don't have a handle on how to run a business. Not enough hired help, filthy properties, sky high prices, you know I'm right.

of the big chains, I like petro: clean, most of the time large lots, riff-raff usually kept out......too bad TA bought them, shoulda been petro buying TA
1nonly Thanks this. -

I see more and more of those GOASIS things that are replacing them since Hospitality Inc.(or whatever) bought them out.
No truck fuel, parking, restaurant just a good old fashioned tourist trap sans pee filled parking lotGonna see a whole lot more as Pilot takes over the J's and consolidates pricing to preferred fleets.TA can not compete apparently, they bought Petro that was already hemorrhaging money anyway or Hospitality wouldn't have had a shot at them.Soon it will be Pilots and Loves with the occasional independent. -
Hess and Kangaroo are still doing ok from what I can see but a lot of those are nothing more than gas stations.

Yeah we got Mapco's popping up locally but they are less truck friendly than Goasis

I have come to realize that the TA's are the ghetto of the thruck stops. Nasty, dirty and just plain disgusting.
