Looking over Los Cruces tonight. Ran into white out conditions on I-10 west of San Antonio. Had to de-ice the wipers twice.

I dont think we'll ever get a real answer. I read that 40% of our power generation was down for routine maintenance. Our systems are supposed to be in as close to 100% operating condition during the summer time to compensate for the heat.

I think everyone, myself included had no idea how flippin cold and how far south it was gonna reach. I wasn't prepared for the power to go out and we only lost power for 24hrs. We had enough water and food, but I should've had a generator, especially since Ive been going to buy one for my truck. We should've had more water on hand though. Not just drinking water, but water to flush the toilets and do dishes.

When we move to N Tx in a few mo's, Im gonna make sure our food and water supplies are much larger. As well as power generation and fuel reserves. Zero reason for me to not have atleast 100gal of diesel and gasonline on hand.

 

I could've told you that and whoever had you roll west from here was a #######.
