I had it on my truck for a couple years. Not Generac but same Yanmar engine. Bulletproof. Generator was connected to the truck fuel tank.
Only one CON with air cooled generators they are loud as hell. Not exhaust, cooling. You can't put them in enclosure to noise down.
Switched to Kubota water cooled. Tommymonza should be familiar with as they are very popular on sail boats.

That is a cool setup. Do you have a pic of the Kubota?

Ah okay, was looking for the radiator? Or does it hook up to your truck coolant lines?

What is decibel level for this one? I would prefer this type or Onan to an APU personally.

Just wanted to share a little experience here on my Tripac. It had 1000 hours on it when I bought my 2015 truck. Truck had 580k. I'm now up to over 2000 hours and truck is at 850k. I have changed the oil.....once. That is all. Tripac includes an Espar diesel heater but it doesn't register hours on the APU. I use it every night in the winter. Never done anything to it, cleaned or run kerosene or any of that stuff people swear by.

If there's one thing I would spend $10k on tomorrow for the return on investment it's an APU. It's two weeks of running for an O/O for year round comfort and it prolongs the life of your batteries, keeps your engine warm without you having to think about it. It does stuff none of the homebrew set ups do.

This one has a larger tank and I'm told with an average draw will do 15hrs? It's an inverter and for an open frame its suppose to be quiet?

    my set up
Has been proven reliable as a stone.
Runs a window unit AC in the summer and an electric heater in the winter.

The radiator is on the opposite side of view and coolant system not connected to the truck. As you can see there is no space enough between fuel tank and DPF to install APU. So it blowing air under truck and back. Radiator is similar to APU with fan.
Regarding Db level, IDK. But it's much quieter then Yanmar.
