Sounds like, to me, you were trying to save the life of the driver in the car. I don't see any issues with anything you said. Construction zones are tight and 4 wheelers don't comprehend how our trucks work. Thank the Good Lord no one was injured.

That said, I don't think you're done. Your Godfather is right, you might have to put up with a crappy company for a bit.

If I might offer a recomendation...Chinatown mentioned USA Truck. They get a bad wrap cause they are horrible at training, but for veteran drivers it really isn't too bad. Their trucks are in and out of the shop, but who's isn't? I went there after 6 months after a bad experience with my previous company. I got on a dedicated route and it was nice. Didn't always make the most money in the world, but it is better than nothing. Good luck with whatever you decide. Stay safe driver.

I might be able to get him in with the company I'm at... No guarantees. But if he has 6 years experience, with a clean record (aside from this recent mishap) I think they might put him on.

I work for a small Reefer outfit in eastern Idaho. We run to the Midwest and back each week. Pay is decent for companies in eastern Idaho... Its not top tier, but it is more than liveable. They also offer some pretty good medical benefits and 401k. The company is a really good outfit with new, very well maintained equipment.

Where in Idaho is he located? How old is he? And what kind of experience does he have in that 6 years?

Also more details concerning his incident would be much appreciated.

Post the answers to my questions here, and PM me if he is interested.

Well, then I guess the kid is lucky your "opinion" won't be factored in, eh? I was looking for more factual information, not someone's shortsighted opinion. Instead of chiming in with negativity, might I suggest grabbing a spelling book and doing a little studying?

Climate Express doesn't hire out of Idaho, but that roll over would be a problem even they did. OP, he isn't finished by a long shot but, he definitely can find some where to work. It may not be one of the more glamorous, reputable companies, but it is a check and a chance to keep his skills up.

Tell your son to try Western Express. I believe he would be fine there, they have an 11 western division. When I was working there, the drivers running that division were much happier than the drivers running up and down I-95. The pay is not the greatest, but they will make up for it with the miles.
