OP, tell him to try Legend Transportation. They are in Yuba City, CA. I have a friend that works there and he's doing well there. He has less experience than your son and he has a jackknife on his record. I that's when he was working at Pride Transport.

    Joetro Thanks this.

Glad you're not the one hiring, yep, rollovers suck, they're horrible, but, 6 yrs exp., no other incidents (that we know of) at least he's honest enough to come on here and address us, that's better than 90% of the drivers out there who have accidents or tear things up. From the sounds of it, assuming he's being up front and honest, there are people on here who are willing to stick their necks out and help the guy out, god forbid, that you ever need it, these fine folks won't turn you down if yo ask for help.

Anyway..........look man, I personally appreciate your passion for the safety of the roads. Let's not get self righteous here. Everyone screws up. Find me a CDL holder that hasn't screwed up and I'll buy your next steak dinner. The question is whether he or she will admit to it, or whether he or she has been caught. I'm sure the OP's son feels badly enough. Everyone will need a second chance in life, be it a job, marriage, fatherhood, etc. I could go on and on. You're not exempt and you've made your point. It ain't like we are talking about a woman beater or rapist.....so why not cool it?

And all the hot sauce in the world won't help the bitter taste of one eating their own words.

    This line?
That line was said so that the many folks that have known me on here for many years knew it wasn't me that laid one over.
And I suggest you take your self-righteous attitude and troll somewhere else. The kid is beating up on himself hard enough without you kicking him while he's down. He knows he screwed up and he'll learn from it. Either contribute something useful to the discussion (and, no, your opinion about other drivers as you see them is not the least bit useful) or get lost.

Edit: I need to add something here. Nobody will agree with you more than I will about the state of the industry and the quality of the "drivers" that are running around out here. I have watched it on this downhill slide since I started in 1989. My opinion of today's drivers doesn't differ much from yours except for one little thing. I don't paint every new driver with the same brush. Oh, sure, the driver mill products and many of the foreign drivers, I have little use for, but the drivers like my Godson. The ones that want to be out here doing what we do and wanting to learn; those I have time for. This kid calls me or his dad most every week, sometimes several times a week, asking for advice. He wants to learn and he listens. He asks me if he thinks he might be making a mistake loading a load or taking a route or some such and I tell him if he has and he'll change his plan and remember next time. This is the kind of new driver we want. He isn't the nitwitted steering-wheel holder that these megas churn out by the thousands. One screwup does not a failure make.

He's definitely not finished. I have a friend who had the same exact scenario happen to him. Did it cause my friend to lose certain oppurtunities? Yes but it didn't stop him from making a living. The most important thing is your Son is alive and still physically able to work.

You make it sound like I just showed up here out of the blue. I've been a part of this place for a long time, which is why I knew just where to turn for advice and information. I've also been here long enough to know there will always be that "one guy" that tries to steer the conversation away from it's intended purpose (Hint: that "one guy" is you).

I started this thread to get information, not opinions. Most of us realize the difference. You came on here to spout an unwanted opinion. You, with a membership less than a week old came on here to play pigeon chess, not to contribute to the conversation. The world has obviously made you bitter.
