first of all lying to a cop is not perjury. perjury is when you are giving a sworn statement and you lie. secondly in your post you say the cop was sitting behind the sign 150 feet in a curve so you did see a sign albeit maybe to late. also anything you say to a cop cant be used against you if you have not been given your miranda rights and they have been explained to you. and i never read anybody their rights for a citation. also cops have a job to do also so why is it people complain when they dont do their job but then complain when they do? now i know there are some cops that go to far but for most part they are just doing a job like us drivers. but always taalk to a lawyer before paying any fines then again you know how most people feel about lawyers too......

Pulled into a Turnpike Plaza(PA), parked behind the other bigtrucks horizonally, a Snooper Trooper in a plain wrapper Black Victorian eyeballed me, and waved as I was ONLY going in for a fresh thermos of coffee. Came out and WHAMMO, pulled that car to block me(like I was a member of "Most Wanted" and didnt know it), gave me an illegal parking ticket. COST: $60(You beleive THAT?) I fought it, Company gave me time OFF to fight it(BUT ONLY because I just HAPPEN to have been assigned a load to the same town(Reading)...figures:biggrin_25524: So actually I was OFF but not until I delivered ON time, then I parked and was OFF but not really cause I logged me OFF duty not driving which is "kinda" OFF but not totally since I coulda said ON duty not driving but if I put Sleeper Berth that would be TOTALLY OFF but not really cause I had to walk OVER to the courthouse which OMG, imagine me lieing on a Logbook....nah not me. WHAT THE HECK IS HE TALKING ABOUT.

Anyways, Judge said and I quote "Your kidding right?" A thermos of coffee, and you was back in truck ready to go in 14 minutes"? I said "Yes your honor, went right in and got it with no waiting line and back out" He said "WELL, this is one ridiculous ticket if ya ask me, case dismissed, no record of such." "Let me ask you though, just curiosity, how much you average a day driving"? I said "Well at 40CPM judge I average 500-900 take-home a week, so my time off today cost me OH, I'd say a hundred and 50". He said "Well, for NOT having an attitude and behaving in a way that BEST portrays the industry(yeah right, HE dont get out much) I award you a 100 hundred dollar voucher which the clerk will issue you and you can stop by the 1st floor window cashier and redeem it". Pretty cool huh?(I thought). As I walked away he looked at me as to figure was I OFF or ON duty doing this......my pace picked up outta there.

    Lesson learn.....F I G H T T H O S E T I C K E T S .

"Got pulled over. Cop made me do my ABCs' forward and backwards, walk the line, blow in the tube, tilt my head back, and checked my truck for drugs. I got back in my truck and asked "Officer, I was going 55, the speed limit". He said "Yeah, I know, thats why I pulled you over".

Actually, lying to a police officer such as giving false id information or hiding a gun and then telling him you didn't have one or even drugs can be considered as "Obstruction of Justice" or "Obstruction of an Officer" (depending on state and jurisdiction) but not Perjury. That's what you get when under oath in court and you just can't tell the truth and get caught!

From what I have read in this thread the drivers telling the stories are all guilty as charged. Then whinnying about it. Read the signs, Like weight limit, no parking or emergency parking only. As afr as asking for a violation of over the streets weight limit instead of traffic control device maybe like adding coal to a fire. It is not the same as a over gross ticket. Sometime it has to do with the depth of things buried under the street, or the thickness of the paving. Im sure you would not want the city to come after you later for damages you may have or may not have caused. He may have given you a ticket to your benefit in the long run.
