Apologies. You are right. Forget revenue. I meant profits, which is what we were talking about to begin with. The point I was making is that when profits are up on declining revenue, it is usually driven by a cut in expenses, improved efficiencies, or a sale of existing assets (or one-time un-ordinary credits), NOT a higher price for goods, as you stated. To-MAE-to, po-TAH-to at this point. But if you wanna split hairs and have a pissing contest, learn how to add first! I went back and edited it for you. Thanks for the catch. :p

One thing I have learned over the years is when people talk the talk it’s only a matter of time before they they step on their own Richard.
    You didn’t disappoint.
I guess we both live to fight another day.
Learn the definition of REVENUE lol

I thought I spelled it out on my very first post? Oh well, I guess you're one of those that doesn't like to be corrected. Always will come with an excuse or "clarification". I have an A.A. in Finance and a B.B.A. in Management (not that it matters since it's all hogwash), so I think I do know the difference between revenue and profit. I gave you your props and apologized and you still have to act like a pecker-head.

I guess you took it wrong?
I was just having a little fun.
Just like when you told me to learn how to add?
That’s the problem with Internet forums and texting.
It’s hard to know the context of someone is thinking with out face to face expression.
As far as my credentials go I don’t have a degree in anything I am just a common man with thirty years running multiple businesses and retired since age 55.
I run a profitable part time hobby trucking business in the spring and in the fall because I enjoy the road and being a trucker is my roots and who I am.
I will drive a truck until the day they no longer allow me to for what ever reason that might be?

Sorry if I upset you that was never my intention.
life is definitely to short to get upset with internet disagreements, but I do enjoy and find some entertainment in some spirited back and forth banter at times.
Put your truck in the wind and enjoy the ride along with your life and family, it all goes by so very quickly.
Be safe and prosperous out there but always remember life is about the ride not the destination.

Bitcoin will never be a primary currency like the dollar. The blockchain can't handle that many transactions.

But it does have value because people are paying for it. Landlords are accepting it for rent, people want their salaries paid out in bitcoin.

I am speculating the price is going to continue to rise overall.

The 5 characteristics of money with bitcoin has been debated ad nauseam. I'd argue that it does have those characteristics. The last characteristic, acceptability, we have only started to see late last year.

I suppose the paid parking could be the source of additional income, without increasing expenses.

I'm looking for the right land to experiment with that now. Depending on where you are and what's available it could work out for a lot of us who drive trucks. You don't need to be around much to sell paid parking. BTW, I don't mean overnight parking, I'm talking about selling monthly spots to other drivers.

I was just down in Florida, Miami area. There is a lot of paid parking in that area. Chicago is another area that has a demand.

Not much demand in my area. My hometown has a population of 500. We have tractors around here, a few even run the road once and a while. Heck they just park em where ever they want around here.

I would put up storage units and rent the back lot monthly along with boats and rvs.

I understand. You are right about texting and messaging--it is often misinterpreted. I too, left another life to take up trucking. I love it and wish I would have done it 20 years ago. When I told you to learn to add, I was poking fun that you came up with $8.50 instead of $7.50. I KNOW it was an obvious brain-fart because you obviously know how to add. It has happened to me countless times. Anyway, all is forgotten. Be safe.

Bitcoin will be accepted as long as IT NO LONGER IS. The characteristic of money I was referring to was the backing of a government. For this to happen it has to be ingrained in the economic system of a particular government, not to mention be accepted politically as an ENFORCEABLE means of exchange between two countries. Having a universal currency will never work because of the different disparities between different nations. Culture, social norms, WORK ETHIC, assigning values to resources used for exchange, etc. If the Euro didn't work in a relatively small area, among countries that had a shared history and many cultural similarities, what makes you think bitcoin will work on a WORLDWIDE scale? I'm talking long-term, not short-term, which is what we are seeing now. Every fad is mistaken as the "new norm", until it is exposed as a fad. That is my quote by the way, and I'll stand by it.

Bitcoin can work in a closed system. Think of a small city enclosed in a dome, with its entire needs fulfilled by goods and services produced inside that dome. There, you can come up with alternate currencies. But when you have different countries, world's apart, that each produce different goods and services, and each country with its own agenda and prejudices, something like bitcoin will ultimately fail. You need one universal political entity for that to work. Good luck with that.
