They act all nice and #### before you get that load. After, they show their true side, which is ugly lying douchebags.
All drivers out there, double and triple check weight. ALC will lie. Im not kidding.
Plus their rates are cheap. Im never gonna move their loads ever again.

Talk us through what happened here, we need more to go off of than they are ugly dbags. Did you show up to the PU and the supposed 20,000lbs load weighed 44,0000?

30,000lbs but then we found out it was actually 46,000. I would've never even called or inquired if I knew it was over 46,000 lbs. Why did I have to go to PU to find that out? Then I call the broker, and he wasn't sorry about it at all.

That kind of stuff happens all the time. Is that all you've got? Lots of times big brokers don't even have accurate info on what they're moving. They should but they don't. Sometimes they were lied to as well.

If it's over your max tell them to remove some and negotiate with broker before you leave the pick up.

Yeah based on the weight difference I don't think they lied to you. A lot of TMS allow the user to duplicate a prior shipment and will use the same weight from whatever load was duplicated in the system, so it's possible someone made a mistake. Alternatively they got bad info from the customer and didn't realize it was 46k in weight.

There just isn't a good reason to lie to the carrier about the weight, especially when it's over 45k. You most likely won't be able to scale gross and it will be a huge PITA to work through the situation.

They should have offered you a TONU though.

    TONU deserved absolutely.
Still, if it is only $150, they might as well shove it up their ###.
46K should be all right to scale for a standard dry van and tractor with sleeper.
Pragmatically, I may or may not want to stay on that load depending on how lucrative it was and how the broker would want to appease me.

Joe, don't you drive a Volvo? My 780 with a Great Dane dry box will not scale over about 43,500. I have a small deer basher and a truck bed tool box. I dunno, maybe it's my enormous cajones that put me over max?
