    Hey all

I recently think I struck some gold and I need some help in making a decision. I have 2 opportunities that both seem promising, but I'm not sure who to start with. I have 3 months experience on the road thus far.

The first is a local, home daily position starting at $24/HR running amazon relay loads. It requires that I go to NYC frequently. As of now, I'm able to start immediately. No touch, all dry van. Owner states that I only need to work 3 nights per week (3 14hr shift guarantee 40hr check). Possibility of doing OT on a 4th load. No benefits.

The second is for FedEx Freight Driver Apprentice in MD (still interviewing). Starting rate is about $21/HR. 7 weeks of training and learning and getting all endorsements. I'll be learning to work the dock, use forklift, etc... And hopefully, get my manual restriction removed if they have manual trucks. From there, assuming I pass, I get promoted to city driver and rate is approximately $24/Hr. I believe the city driver is going to be home daily as well and doing P&D work.

My concern is, both jobs look promising and I'm trying to make a long term career choice. The only other thing I'd possibly do after getting years of experience is become an O/O (not a necessity though). Does anyone have any input on working for FedEx Freight? How are the benefits?

The local company is called Stride Transportation LLC. No benefits. W2 Employee.

FedEx Freight is W2 as well with full benefits.

How could you go wrong NYC or Baltimore, DC area:rolleyes::eek::D. I would go with FedEx better opportunities moving forward & benefits. That Amazon is working for an owner operator no benefits. If you don't cater to Amazon the faucet gets turned off.

Run fast from the Amazon job. I would go with the Fed Ex. No brainier actually. Good luck!
